Dunno, for ease? To ensure you guests will actually RSVP by making it a bit easier for them so they don't have to go out to a shop and find a card? I don't know, every wedding invitation I have received has either had a little RSVP card in with it, or a website. I just thought it was the norm I suppose!
Thats why we included them - for ease, so as not to inconvience our guests and to encourage them to actually RSVPWeight loss challenge, lose 15lb in 6 weeks before Christmas.0 -

Unfortunately it does seem necessary - the number of guests who didn't bother to actually RSVP and just assumed I would know they were coming really surprised me! In some cases the first I heard of their intention to come was them announcing on Facebook they had just booked their hotel...0 -

I thought the opposite as I've never had an invitation which included an RSVP or indeed a link to a web-site!Lost my soulmate so life is empty.
I can bear pain myself, he said softly, but I couldna bear yours. That would take more strength than I have -

Shows how what's 'normal' is entirely subjective!I don't know how old you are (no offence meant
) but I am mid twenties and wedding invitations would have come from people of a similar age and only within the last couple of years. So that's all that's in my frame of reference!

It's just about making people's lives easier.
Lord knows you need to look no further than this thread to work out there will be people out there who say
"can you believe, they sent this invite and DEMANDED that we RSVP by a certain date...I had to go and buy a card....a stamp...drive to the postbox! People are so selfish..." and the rest. If you can afford it, including an RSVP card and SAE seems the option that causes your guests minimum hassle...0 -

No offence taken. It did occur to me that it was a generational thing. but didn't want to assume.:rotfl:Idiophreak wrote: »It's just about making people's lives easier.

In summary, whatever the heck you do, someone will have a strop about it. Only at the bride though. They can do no right and grooms can do no wrong.Public appearances now involve clothing. Sorry, it's part of my bail conditions.0

What is the problem with including extra info? It makes guests lives easier. If they live hundreds of miles away they may be unfamiliar with local taxi firms or accommodation.
I wish we had thought of using a website. We did set up an email address for RSVPs or queries (shock horror!)0
