kyle wrote:Anyone know of any good places to get rings from as we were browsing in town today and went into H Samuels and when we said date of wedding they just scoffed and said we have left it last minute and then went on to say order of rings would take 10 days!:rotfl: so won't be going there then!

hi thanks for the ebay links, still looking for celtic rings. We are thinking of getting our rings in white gold anyone know the pros/cons ie prices etc.
Again have looked on scotch corner for the rings there are some really nice ones on there but still undecided
Will look at ebay again0 -
white gold can and prob will need replating ,as the white rubs off and goes back to yellow gold
from the underneath my engagement and wedding rings look like yellow rather than white gold lol
if we could have afforded to we would have gone for platinum0 -

Sorry Kyle Rachie B is sooo right - I was typing up a similar message last night and closed the site before posting (I'd had a couple of pints of the black stuff to celebrate St Paddy's) My OH is a jeweller and our friend bought a white gold ring a while back and gets it replated a couple of times a year at about £25 to £35 a time. The platinum does pay for itself in the long run.
With regards to the celtic link - there's a jewellers back in Wales that do their own designs: http://www.rhiannon.co.uk/page/index.php?depID=1&itmSCT=1007&itm=&itmDEP=1&itmPG=1&itmORDER=sales they do some lovely things.
OH went to a tarde fair back in Feb - I'll look through the list of exhibitors and see if there are any more that do celtic jewellry.0 -
Money saving in London isn't always easy, but went into Cass art store yesterday,
https://www.cassart.co.uk, and they have some very cheap card board, ink, paper etc for making your own invites. I purchased a book of 100 A3 240 gsm textured cardboard for £9.95. By cutting in half, with good but cheap scalpel cheers Cass!, This will enable us to make 100 invites, plus place setting cards, plus order of service all printed out on our printer.0 -

I have just got my engagement ring and it is white gold [so we will also be buying white gold wedding rings]. I was advised to get the ring recoated every year, Ernest Jones [where I got mine] will do it for around £7 - so not too bad but you might be able to find places that do it cheaper.0 -
