[/QUOTE]Anyone know of any good places to get rings
I know I'm an ebay addict but have you tried eBay?
I mean just look at Item Number: 8913215254 might not be your size but you can have it altered for £20 roughly (how much it cost for me to have 9ct ring altered) If you're in a rush have it done after the wedding.
Just an Idea!

Planning on getting married next year  although only just started looking into it.
Would love to get married abroad - Italy but have no idea what it would involve - does anyone out there experienced an Italian wedding and got any advice?
Alternativley we are looking at Cheshire - so many places to choose from. Went looking around the Holmes Chapel / Knutsford area today - couldn't believe the choices available. Again if anyone has any experience of a wedding / getting married in the area would love to hear what you think.
Have looked at quite a wide area - really want to choose the right place for us. Daytime we're looking at keeping it quite small (up to 30 max) and then no more than 60 or 70 in the evening - believe me if you knew how big both our families are you'd be amazed that we kept it so low! It's tricky because we don't want somewhere too big (most places for an evening do seem to cater for 140 to over 200).
We've not lived in the area that long so really need some help with it.
Please any info would be great.0 -
No info from anyone yet? Well things have already moved on. We've decided to stay here for the wedding and maybe go to Italy for a few days after for our honeymoon.
We think the daytime venue is sorted but would like to do something different for the evening do for about 60 - 70 people. Anybody got some whacky / different ideas out there that aren't too costly?
So far we've looked at very conventional places e.g local civic hall - but they all look like something out of a Peter Kay sketch!!!
We thought of doing something at home maybe get a semi gazebo / tent thing to cover most of the garden (which isn't very big) and really have some fun with the decoraions - worried it won't be big enough though.
Mum's 60th soon and would like to announce that we are getting married to all my side of the family then - but mum is a bit of an "organiser" so if I haven't got it sorted by then she'll be sticking her oar in...I'm hoping to avoid that scenario (and that difficult "leave it to me" conversation).0 -

Yes - Chester Zoo it's a bit too far though. A friend of mine got married in Edinburgh zoo last September. Got to say that that was one of the best weddings that I've ever been to. I doubt that it was MS though!
The reception was upstairs in the Apex Hotel with Edinburgh castle as the view. Got to say if any of you are looking at the Apex at the moment to hold an event it seemed to go really well.
I still need some ideas of where to hold the party! Ideas anyone?:idea:0 -
If other people are still searching for placecards, I see CardFair are doing some quite decent simple ones - 10 for 99p.
Hope that helps.0 -

I bought all our invites, evening invites, name cards and thank-you cards from the card shops. They all match too.It works out cheaper ythan printing them although i had lots of writing to do.
I also found little vases and slim candles for the tables in poundland.
BTW.Poundland are doing plates,cutlery etc.

I have just spent hours reading all these threads and I have to say that I am rethinking my wedding plans!! I'm getting married next May and the most important things are booked, but have now decided to make my own invites and place settings and am heading out this weekend to gather ideas. Gone is my (expensive) idea of balloons on the tables and incomes vases and candles and loads loads more.
I have already brought my bridesmaid dress's from BHS at half the price of most wedding shops and even planned a weekend break in Jersey where we brough our wedding bands and lots of other jewelry as the island is tax free!
Thanks for all the help and I'm sure I'll absorb more money saving ideas :j0
