Hello, I hope someone can help.
I seem to remember seeing somewhere on the web, a website for wedding dresses where you could tell them the designer and name of a dress you like and they will give you a price that they can get it for you at.
I've had a look on this forum but there's so much now to trawl through, I can't spot anything about it. Does anyone know what the name of this website is? Or does anyone else have any other tips for getting the £900 ish dress you like within your budget of £300??!!
    Many thanks.

  • Hi there,

I'm getting married this December and like the rest of you I'm hoping to save as many pennies as possible. I've already bought the dress, which is a corset top and really holds me in. So my question is (and no kinky answers please!) do I need to buy special wedding underwear if the corset is keeping me place all day, or can I just get by with a nice pair of M&S knickers? :-)

    Thank you!
get comfortable ones!!! you can always slip into the sexy ones later!! of course if you can get comfy AND sexy even better:rotfl:

buy from the USA ! i ordered my maggie sottero wedding dress from the states via https://www.ebay.com

it should have cost £750+ in the UK ! and i bought it for £349 inc all taxes etc :D

Find a dress you like over here, make sure of your sizing ( though it didnt matter too much for me as mine had a corset back) then order from the USA :)

Try some of the American websites. You choose the dress and designer, put in your measurements and they send you the dress. The most expensive one we found was about £400. Did a search on google to find the sites.

Alternatively it is worth asking at wedding shops to have a look at their end of range gear. I have just got a beautiful dress reduced from £800 to £195. It will cost me about £50 - £100 to have it altered but it is a gorgeous dress and an absolute bargain.

Hi, hope someone can suggest to me what to do about the mens suits.

Money is tight on our wedding budget and I think the cheapest suit hire high street shop is Burtons where you can hire for about £50 each suit.

I was wondering if anyone has got married and had the best man and fathers of bride and groom just wearing ordinary suits they already own rather than hiring suits for them all? As long as they are similar shades, would it look ok on the photos as long as they had matching ties? Thoughts on this would be appreciated.

    Shoes/Sandals

Can anyone recommend a place for me to buy some white sandals or ballet shoes to go with my dress? I am getting married on a beach and have big feet (size 8), so most shops don't seem to be able to help. Any suggestions would be most welcome.

    Many thanks

    Hi Carolyn,

I was worried about shoes for my feet as they are a size 6 but very wide and standard shoes just don't fit. So I scoured ebay and within a few days a lovely pair came up and they fit perfectly, they are ivory, cushioned with heels extra wide fit. they were about £15 inc delivery. So its worth you searching on ebay, specifying the size and colour in your search. sarahx

Hi, Sarah, we haven't got married yet, but that's what we're doing, the 'boys' (groom, best and man and ex-flatmate of the bride, 'boys' in invertated commas because one of them is a girl!) are all wearing their own black suits with the same shirts and ties and buttonholes (frankly I'm a bit worried that they'll look like a really bad boy band but it'll be fine!)

I have seen my friend's wedding pictures where they didn't even go as far as to match anything, they just stipulated 'wear dark' and the photos look great, I have a theory that as soon as you shove buttonholes on someone they look weddingy so don't worry!
