  • We're on a (non-strict) budget of around £11k so I think as long as we are reasonable everything is very doable!

I'm so excited - my venue is hosting a wedding fair on Sunday so can't wait to go to that.

Having some problems with table plans. We were told the tables would seat 10 with no problems, BUT we went to the Wedding Fayre and they looked all snug with 8.

That fills me with fear! Do you have a big wedding with a lot of guests? I'm lucky that my venue are making my tables into one big square so no one is at seperate tables, i was freaking out about sorting table plans with such a small wedding. Then again we only have 30 adults and 5 kids!!

    62 I think/maybe/possibly.

we have the perfect set up with 10/table. But it really isn't comfortable when you look at them set up with 8/table.

Look at the additional cost for table arrangements etc.
  • Andy - Is it possible teh venue has two table sizes? I know ours thas two sizes, some to fit 8 and some for 10 but they only set up the 8 seaters for wedding fairs as it's easier to set up a few smaller tables and gives more floorspace for lots of people walking around?
Everyone has a dark side... apparently mine is called Harold?!?

    Good point!

I will definitely keep that in mind when I speak to her indoors later.
  • Any most hotels will have 2 sizes of tables, well any I worked in anyhow!!

I've done not much on the wedding front but it does mean that I haven't spent any money, always a bonus!! Going to get my mum to bring some bits over to me so I can get on with a few wee DIY bits here at the house..

The hotel is concerning me though, I read a few reviews on trip advisor that have been up recently, and while they state the service is very good for weddings, I am alarmed by the posts about the rooms!! Not sure what to do :/

  • Hi everyone.

    May I join?

OH & I are getting married 10-10-15. So far we have arranged NOTHING! So the race is now on.

I contacted the local church (Long story we keep changing our minds, Until we see this one) So we have a meeting with them next week to see whether they can fit us in. Also viewing the hall for reception tomorrow.

We have a tiny budget of £3k & in Bristol so hoping we can get everything we want out of it.
Will update more once I find our footing.
    Future goals:
    Become debt free.
    Beat Depression.
    Be happy & healthy
  • I want to join aswell :j

I think this thread will keep me motivated.. well I hope so anyway.

Our wedding is booked for the 1st October 2015 at Dodford Manor, Northamptonshire. I'm finding it quite difficult finding suppliers as it's 2 hours 30 min from our home in Manchester :o so if anyone can help with suggestions at all I'm all ears!!

We have budgeted £15000 for the wedding not including the honeymoon and hopefully this should cover it.

So far we have booked the venue and the caterers.

    Booked the registrar.

    Booked our photographer.

Booked transport for OH, his best man, our dads and ushers (VW campervan) I don't need transport as I will be getting ready there.

    Booked the band.

Booked bagpipes to be played before and after the ceremony.

    Reserved rooms for the hotel.

and I think that's it, lots to do arghhhh 1 year away
