Evening!
managed to do a bit in the garden. The veggie gardens coming on too, DH got the rotivator going but managed to overturn it:rolleyes: and clog it with oil, luckily he's managed to clean it up so should be able to finish it tomorrow, weather permitting. We're planting 3 sorts of beans, 2 sorts of spuds, peas, salad leaves, tomatoes, butternut squash, strawberries, rhubarb, carrots, peppers, red onions, onions, probably more but I cant remember the rest.
Its only our 2nd year of veggie growing so fingers crossed it goes well!;)
Ds1's doing well with his driving lessons, parallel parking next week!
DS2's off for a sleepover.
Dh and I hope to go carbooting in the morning followed by a pigeon auction,
Grannybroon - glad to see you back!
Hope everyones ok,
take care xxDo what you love :happyhear0 -
Thriftlady - you've shocked me enough to make me post on here - I'm usually too shy!!! But when you say "we have drunk a bottle of wine already" I hope you mean you and DH/OH rather than the family!!! DH and I are the same (WELL MAYBE SLIGHTLY MORE) but DS is again at his GF to eat (late notification, as usual) which alowed us to experiment with Gigham's lentil shepherd's pie (delicious). Afters is - wait for it - cup of tea and Sainsbury's Taste the Difference Cookies - to help us sober up you will understand. The mitigating cirumstances m'lud are that they were 20% off and I gave DS two to take with him in case he wasn't fed properly. Am I suspended from this group before I have even joined? And if I post this, then I have had one glass of wine too many ....0

DLB - just sent you a pm.
Hope you are all OK. Had a wonderful morning party shopping with DD for DGS2 birthday on Monday. Also bought a lovely outfit for DGS3 from Next two day sale - DGS3 due early July. DD gives up work in 4 weeks. Really quite glad as she is looking peaky and tired.
Family duty for next couple of days so will be out of the loop again! Busy at work last week due to year end accounts. However now on holiday for two weeks (I am school based) so absolute bliss. Have a huge 'to do' list and DGSs coming for holiday week after next for two possibly three nights. Will need to put the travel cot away as DGS2 says he will be a big boy when he is two on Monday!!!! He is now well established in a bed.
Love and hugs to you all, especially anyone having problems or difficulties, ill health just now.

Evening all....
I have had a good day.....I got up late, had my porridge and tea then showered. After cleaning the kitchen I sat down for a lunch break and watched the Bette Davies documentary on TV. Now, that was followed by her film "Now Voyager"...so I made another pot of tea and sat and watched that too.
Then I thought I'd better plant the few things I bought at the garden centre yesterday (and I felt guiolty for wasting such a lovely sunny day!) so I went out and did a bit of digging, planting, weeding (yep, weeds coming up!) and hacked back a holly bush.) Then I moved all the patio furniture and dug out some rambling brambly shoots that had found their way into the trellis.... and had a huge sweep up of the patio and steps. It was dusk when I finished. I listened to a blackbird trilling as the light faded. It was lovely. This garden work has done my poor abdominal hernia no good at all - but I do enjoy gardening!
I have showered and daughter and her bf have just gone out to get takeaway pizza and garlic bread (and ice cream) so we'll have that in front of the TV. It's all very unhealthy...but I burned off a few calories today!
Hope you are all enjoying your Saturday evening.0 -

Well the man to do my trees eventually turned up, 2 hours late. said hed had a flat tyre, looked like more of a hangover to me.
Still, he did a good job anyway, and he did take some of the bill for his lateness so cant complain really.
Im at OH's now, using his electric/food/heating lol
Plan to have an earlyish night as weather supposed to be nice tomorrowBaby Ice arrived 17th April 2011. Tired.com! :j0 -
Hi,I had quite a productive day today.
I gave the kitchen a good tidy-round and did a few loads in the wm which was all dried outside for the first time this year. DH cut the grass and hedge and was 'helped' by DD2.
I tackled a huge pile of ironing and finally got round to booking the ferry for our summer holiday to Holland.
As we had quite an expensive holiday to Florida last year, we've decided to go back to our OS/MS ways and go camping in Holland for 3 weeks. This also includes staying a few days with a friend who lives over there. Before we had the kids we used to go cycle-camping over there with all of our stuff strapped onto our bikes! I'm really looking forward to it as last year was the first time we didn't go camping. We've always had camping holidays even when the kids were young babies (not on bikes though).
We had inside-out pizzas for tea and then settled down to watch Dr Who which was brill! :j We all love it and it will now be a ritual in our house every Saturday evening. :rotfl:0 -
As I am sure many on here know, one of the best prices you can get for having your hair/nails/legs done is the local college. While students do the work, they are supervisored by the teachers. Unfortunately they are now closed for two weeks Aussie-Girl, so you may have to find a different saloon if the roots won't wait!

Why is it I have less time now I am retired then when I worked?0 -
Well I'm up again, just having a nosey as have just had to strip DS2s bed as he's wet it, knew 5 days in a row was too good to be true.
Staying up a bit longer as Holly's kennel cough seems to be back bigger than ever, poor little pup can't catch her breath, back to vets on Monday if she's still the same I think! One day I might be more organised...........
