Glad to hear that you're on the mend.

If you insist on doing stuff, try and stick to a gentle hobble so that you don't set yourself back :)

Mr AJM isn't really letting me do anything, he has been cooking this week while he makes me sit there telling him what to do. Most of the sorting will probably be done sitting and going through stuff together or him standing while I am sitting. If he wasn't here I would be trying to do so much more!

We have managed to get this far without putting the heating on, if we can make it to the middle of the month I will be amazed!

Physio went well, he would have discharged me this week if it wasn't my foot. He thinks it may only be a couple of weeks now though. It is good but I love our sessions and his input, I will miss it when it stops.

Currently waiting for Mr AJM to get out lunch in the John Lewis cafe then back to shopping for stuff for our new table. I hate to think how much we are already up to!

There has been a big delay in switching our gas and electricity to sainsbury's energy/british gas but apparently they should have our supply by the 25th of this month. I have just done a price check and we can still save £87 a year on that. We have decided to wait until the supply has changed and then I will check tariffs and decide on switching, we may end up losing out on good deals but at least we won't end up getting confused between 3 suppliers.

I am about to make a comprehensive Christmas present list and go through it with Mr AJM ready to buy online or go out over the next couple of weeks. I am away for the first 9 days of December and I want everything bought and wrapped by then so I can enjoy the run up to Christmas when I get home. I intend on doing a lot of my baking by then too which should just leave me a few things left to do. If we can get our meat etc in the freezer I will be ecstatic.

I would like to get a bit of order in the kitchen by the end of the weekend with a plan of how we can make the storage better.

I have started my Christmas baking today...well the dough is in the fridge ready to make my first batch of biscuits tomorrow. I am not sure it is right so at least I am early enough that if it is wrong I can start again and I am seeing my sister in law this week so can check with her what I am doing wrong. The best thing was we already had all the ingredients so they are kind of free. I need to check what I need to buy for the others for tomorrow.

There is a reason for being very early! I mentioned making the santa sleighs to Mr AJM and he said I could only do it if I promised to make the biscuits. He is also being very unhelpful towards presents so I am hoping that if I keep to my side of the bargain about baking he will then help.

I may have overdone things with standing so much so am quickly resting my foot, Mr AJM can't cook at the same time as heading to the chip shop so I need to do the cooking while he is out. He is preparing everything else so I just need to fry the burgers. I am really looking forward to dinner, HM burgers, with salad, HM mango salsa and chip shop chips. I have made an apple and pomegranate crumble for dessert, didn't need to buy the stuff for this either :money:

I have managed to meal plan until Saturday, I am going to have a break and then try and add another week to the plan. My intention is to try and plan the main part of our meals until the end of the month so we can buy all the meat etc that we need and make the most of any deals that are out there. I will also be able to make up a shopping list for the whole of the month for fresh stuff that we can both carry around with us and cross off when we don't need to buy stuff. Money is going to be short this month and we will need to transfer extra across at some point but I am hoping this will encourage me to cook again rather than be tempted by eating out which I don't really enjoy so much anymore.

To keep me on track here is my plan for meals,

Sunday Soy roast duck with hoisin gravy, potatoes and beans
Monday Sweet and sour pork stir fry
Tuesday Rosemary roast lamb chops & potatoes, green veg
    Wednesday Chicken wraps
Thursday Meal out due to work
Friday Balsamic roasted sausages & couscous
Saturday Thai chicken cakes with sweet chilli sauce

I am so proud of myself, I have meal planned until the end of the month. I need to make a shopping list in the morning for all the main ingredients and consider lunches etc which should only mean we need to buy milk, bread, veg and fruit for the rest of the month as I don't like buying this too far in advance. I will be able to make a proper plan of when we need to take things out of the freezer/marinade or buy extras. By the end of October I am going to try and have November's meal plan ready :D

    I am trying to be!

I have just done our shopping list based on the meal plan, it was quite confusing making sure I have included everything. I think I know how to do this better next month but time will tell. I think have covered the meat/fish ingredients, lunches for work, crumpets etc for weekends and anything we will need from our store cupboard. I think my spreadsheet is comprehensive enough to make sure I don't miss anything through the week, it is now just another one that needs to be checked daily!

Towards the end of this month I am going to double check the food inventory as I think quite a few of my long-term ingredients will be used this month. I would like to run some things down before the Christmas shop so this should help. I plan to do the shopping list as I meal plan to make my brain hurt a little less!

One day I will be as organised as Tilly :rotfl:
