I am going to be away for the 1st MFiT update so I am trying to get as close a guess as possible. Our interest isn't completely the same daily which is making it a bit more of a challenge. Wherever we are we will very quickly get ahead of the game once our remortgage kicks in in 14 days. I am looking forward to see the new daily interest when we get back from our holiday.

What a difference a day makes with the weather, I am enjoying the thunderstorm from my conservatory though.

We have got today to potter about and pack then we are off over to Glasgow tonight as our flight leaves for our holiday at 6 tomorrow morning  We have decided to eat here before going over, the food in the hotel we are staying at isn't that great and would cost, our dinner totals £8 I think for both of us.

I think I have worked out how much our mortgage will be on 31/07/2016, the last day on this rate. I am quite disappointed that I won't be able to watch the interest for the first few days but looking to the opportunities that our new mortgage will bring. According to my spreadsheet we will be £88 away from our large mortgage being under £100k at the end of the year based on our current OP plans. There is not way we will not be ending 2016 at £99.999 :D

I believe we have about 32 months until could be mortgage neutral so that is now my focus. Our general attitude to spending seems to be changing so this could be a real possibility although we still plan to holiday as much as always. If we reach mortgage neutral at this point it will give us 42 months (the end of my contract) or 51 months (Mr AJM's 60th birthday) to save as much of a buffer as possible, meaning if we decided to clear the mortgage we would still have a good nest egg.

I think I am going to start a new diary with our new mortgage deal, I am debating the title at the moment.

Just back from holiday, financials updated and all is well. I will do a longer update after dinner or tomorrow but I intend to start a new diary so that may be my last post on here.

Thanks to remortgaging we are paying £5.50 less a day in interest on our larger mortgage. I am going to set up a new thread sometime this weekend, however Mr AJM and I are trying to avoid being absorbed by the internet again now we are home so I will be managing most of it while I am at work. I am looking forward to doing far more calculations now the new product has started. I have no idea what yesterday's interest cut is going to do to the payment on our larger mortgage (our lower has a collar) but it can only be good.

In other good money news...last month I paid £100 into my stocks and shares ISA and it made £1400 over the month. I thought I would be losing money with the madness of the banking world/referendum so I obviously know nothing.

Project mortgage neutral has commenced :D (I just typed this but think it could be a good title for my new thread)

Depending on where you're invested it may well be the exchange rate that has helped - that's certainly the case with my SIPP. The trick now is to work out when the pound will rise and cash in just before it :rotfl:
A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effort
    :) Mortgage Balance = £0 :)

My S&S ISA funds are invested in companies that are out of favour and are managed so they move the money about for me :D

My new thread is up and running although a little bare until I can add some more to it. The link is here if you are interested in following my new journey https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/comment/71100542#Comment_71100542
