Thanks newgirly, however yesterday's tea loaf did not turn out very well so it will either be eaten hot with custard or thrown out.
We have not had such a good day today. We went out this morning on Mr AJMs new bike to explore some roads we have been on in the car which we love. Unfortunately there was some loose gravel on one of the corners and we lost control of the bike and skiddedluckily we were going slow enough and nothing was coming the other way, we ended up on the grass verge on the other side of the road with the bike a little way in front of us. Mr AJM has a slightly sore left hip (we fell to the right so not sure how) but I don't know how sore as he keeps telling me he is fine. The bike may be slightly scraped on the underside of a bit of chrome but Mr AJM is off out to soap it down in a sec to check it out. I have come off worse as I seem to have taken a lot of the impact on my right ankle but we think it is just a sprain. I can already stand on it far more than I could earlier which is a good sign. I am doing everything I should and am alternating between putting ice on it and moving it to try and get as much movement back as possible. Once we got home (we managed to both get back on the bike and come home) I got a bit of shock but seem to have come through that now. I am most annoyed that it will affect the physio that I am doing but I can still do the exercises I am rubbish at so will do extra of those over the weekend and see what I can do next week. My next appointment is on Wednesday and although I will not be able to do everything at least he may be able to help me with my ankle. I wish I knew someone who could strap my ankle up in the way that stops it hurting but for now I will keep an ankle support on.
Needless to say I am doing absolutely nothing as I can'toff out to step son's for dinner in just over an hour, part of me would love just to stay in where I have the space to elevate etc but it might take my mind off it.

Hi AJ, sorry to hear about your accident - I'd have been frightened to death.
I guess elevating and using an ice pack (peas) to keep swelling down maybe? Hopefully someone with the right knowledge/skills will pop by and tell you what to do.

I have it elevated, ice on it, an ankle support on it and am doing as little as possible. It has just gone through a really sore spate so I have just taken some painkillers to see if it will take the swelling down a bit and kill some of the pain. I am surprised at how calm we both were and that we managed to get back.MFW 2025 No. 7 £1130/£1200

What a shock AJ - I think you have every right to feel sorry for yourself:( I hope the ankle (and you!) are feeling slightly better.
Take care

We tried to go to bed just before 10 last night, I checked my ankle and showed it to Mr AJM who wasn't very happy. It has also got to a point where I couldn't walk on it anymore so we went to A & E. It was surprisingly quiet for a Saturday night and the good news is an x-ray showed I have not broken anything (cue a very happy AJ) and they praised us for doing everything right. We got into bed at 2 this morning and I slept quite well managing to keep my foot in one position. Mr AJM is annoying as he is sore but isn't really letting on to me how much. It is going to be a waiting game for me but I did a search last night and am following advice on there until I can see my doctor and physio next week.
Need to sort a shopping list for Mr AJM to do for me and will need to get used to him doing everything for me for a while. I am a bit or a control freak so that may be easier said than done!MFW 2025 No. 7 £1130/£1200
