I have a dream...to be a MFW

German goulash is now in the slow cooker, having a quick cuppa then will make a lemon drizzle cake (finally). I should then have enough time to prep my red cabbage ready for cooking and make a start on the apple strudel. I also have a lot of rolls to make up for lunches to put in the freezer, we almost have enough of everything lunch-wise to take us up to half term

Do you make your lunch rolls with fillings and then freeze? I've heard this can be done but not been brave enough to try.Currently studying for a Diploma - wish me luck

Yes, we currently have ham and beef in them. My mum did it when we were kids and she used to put cheese in too, I guess there are probably other fillings that freeze well. We take them out at breakfast and they are ready to eat by lunch. We now have 18 ready to go in freezer bags, the bags will be washed and reused after.
Dinner was amazing and the house smells of red cabbage and strudelMFW 2025 No. 7 £1130/£1200

Just checking in to remind you all I am still here (if anyone is reading my diary). I don't have much to report although I have had some good OPs as you will see by my signature, I am wondering if I can make a mini-challenge to reach my new MFW target by the end of the month. There is not a chance I would have made the larger target by the end of the year but I will see how close I can get.
I have started my physio which is good but it means I am doing a bit less in the gym, partly due to what I am required to do and partly due to sheer laziness!
Mr AJM is still enjoying my meals. I am going to update my food inventories over the next couple of days to make my meal plan for next week. I have a few things that need using up and things I would like to use up before the end of the month so it will be a challenge to find good meals that don't dip below the standard I have been letting Mr AJM get far too used to!MFW 2025 No. 7 £1130/£1200

Once Mr T has a job, I'll be asking advice about joining a gym
Good luck with your 'use up' challenge

I fear I may not be the best for advice on a gym. The good thing with my job is I get gym facilities for free, the only downside is they/work is 9 miles away so not very practical/MSE on a day off.
I think it is going to take a lot of work to keep the heating off at least until October. It is so cold and although it is not something we scrimp on I refuse to put it on yet. I have cunning plans for the weekend though...tumble drying the towels on one day and baking on the other and leaving the doors open to let the warmth go through the house.
Talking of heating we have heard absolutely nothing about an energy switch that we signed up for in the supermarket over a month ago. I need to check the paperwork and see what it says but it seems strange to not even have had a letter saying thanks for choosing us! I know we can get a cheaper deal through a different company anyway so I may have to look into once I double check who we are going to be with in a few weeks.MFW 2025 No. 7 £1130/£1200

Glad meals all going well :TA positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effortMortgage Balance = £0

I wish you could rely on S & S ISAs to always grow the same way. I am currently making £300 a week on it which would be an easy way to make money and OP. I know they are not quick fixes and you need to be in for the long haul but I like seeing the numbers going up, not down! If it stays at the same level my savings now total just over £29k, £8k and it will be the value of my smaller mortgage effectively offset
Looking forward to the weekend off although am working late this evening so I may not be fit to do much tomorrow. We are picking up Mr AJMs bike tomorrow and then will probably have a ride out and lunch somewhere. We are planning to stay in/locally on Sunday with an easy dinner, the main plan is to watch the Singapore grand prix and time trials as the city is a special place for us.MFW 2025 No. 7 £1130/£1200

This reminds me, I must sort out S&S saves or ISA, I keep forgetting. BTW - how did it go with DH's son once you'd made it out of the shower?0
