I have a dream...to be a MFW

I decided to make the best of a bad situation while not being able to move very well and so have finally sorted out my mountain of paperwork and done an awful lot of shredding. I have found if I walk very slowly I can move in a slightly easier way so have been moving about a little but am trying to be sensible and am sitting for a bit now. Mr AJM has gone to get us something for lunch, once we have had that I am going to see how low the ironing board can go so I can try and sit whilst ironing. If not I can try and stand for a bit while doing that. I need to remember baby steps but am hoping to have a go at swimming arms only or maybe arm weights in the gym depending on how things go tomorrow. I think I will be letting down a lot of people through the week but I need to take care of myself and be selfish for once.

DO NOT READ IF YOU ARE EATING!!
Things are progressing as well as can be expected with my ankle. I am probably pushing myself too much (not intentionally) but I can now walk upstairs with both legs, I am not far off being able to make the steps to come back down although I won't be trying that any time soon and I can almost walk normally although there is still a limp and this comes and goes. I still have no ankle bones as they are covered by a lot of swelling and the bruising looks quite disgusting. I have an appointment with my physio tomorrow thanks to some great friends who are driving me, not looking forward to him finding out what is going on but hopefully he will still let me do what I can tomorrow. I am just really low about it all, the medic at work and my boss today have both tried to suggest I don't need to be in work and can be at home but I will go mad if I am at home. At work I move about at intervals so I don't cease up and my job takes my mind off things. If I stay at home I will end up more miserable and will probably try some housework and do more damage. I can't go anywhere so I would go crazy, Mr AJM thinks I am silly for still going in.
Moneywise, OPs etc have gone out today. I haven't cooked properly since Friday, Mr AJM is doing the shopping and we have resorted to a couple of meals out so we have spent a bit more money!MFW 2025 No. 7 £1130/£1200

My physio told me that today too. I am now being good and following most of his advice apart from one bit...he is not impressed that I am still at work. I have reminded him that I sit down for most of the day and that when I can I am elevating my foot. He has asked me to listen to my body and reminded me of the signs. He can't treat my foot at the moment as I need to wait for my referral to go through and even then someone else might take on that care. He did suspend my treatment today and put my foot in an ice sock for 20 minutes instead. Until I start with another physio/start treatment for my foot he is going to start his work with me by icing/numbing my foot and the plan is still to work as we were. The fact he is still happy to treat me and has helped me already has done wonders for my low mood, he may have had to deal with tears if he had sent me home and I am not normally the crying-type of girl. My foot is currently smaller than it was and is now in a neoprene sock that he has given me. I still can't drive and don't want to try but I can't last much longer.
Money...we managed to find some dinner in the cupboards rather than go for a takeaway or eat out.MFW 2025 No. 7 £1130/£1200

Already been offered a physio appointment for my foot, I thought they had a 2 week waiting list but I have an appointment for Tuesday. They have been really accommodating so I have my initial consultation on my foot for an hour and then change physios and have about an hour on my knee. The guys at work are giving me a lift over and I will ask DH to pick me up as I don't think driving will be an option after that.
Next physio session is tomorrow. I have just done my first full session since last Friday (although without a warm up) and am surprised at what I can still do. Hopefully the appointment will go well.
I am having a go at driving tonight, the bonus of it sitting on the drive is it has not cost me any diesel. I am hoping it will be ok as I will be stuck for my appointment tomorrow if I can't drive, I really hate having to ask for lifts or rely on others. Mr AJM and I are meeting for a carvery dinner a mile away so if I can't get the whole way he can pick me up and sway cars.
Looking forward to tomorrow as we are going away for the weekendMFW 2025 No. 7 £1130/£1200

We are getting our new dining table delivered tomorrow so have had to tidy a few things away and have a quick temporary fix too. We are looking at going window shopping in Edinburgh on Friday, I have suggested that we then spend the rest of the weekend having a sort out. I just need to try and make Mr AJM see that it is a good idea.
I think money may be tight this month as we are already quite low in our account after having been away for the weekend. Mr AJM is off for 2 weeks so I need to make sure I meal plan properly and give him a shopping list each time he needs to go out. Once he is back at work I will need to make our money last for another 10 days so will try and work out what we will need from then and work back from that.MFW 2025 No. 7 £1130/£1200

Just letting you know I am still here.
Our dining table was delivered on Tuesday and looks lovely. Although it is bigger than the previous one it fits so much better.
My ankle is getting better very slowly. I had my first physio appointment on it and Tuesday and have my own way as I am now going to be treated by one physio for both issues. The woman I saw checked everything over, there is no damage to the ligaments etc just bad bruising still and quite sore to walk or do much. I had done a bit of driving which made it sore but gave me my freedom, they told me I was invalidating my insurance though and have advised me not to drive so I am back to using my nearest and dearest as a taxi service. I am actually finding it easier to ask for lifts now I know I am not allowed to drive. I am glad that Mr AJM is on his two-week half term as it making life so much easier. I have my next appointment tomorrow, I don't think I am as far on as my physio was hoping but I have been doing my exercises so there is nothing more I can do.
I have the next 3 days off work so will predominantly be trying not to overdo things but we are also going to try and spend some time having a good sort out.MFW 2025 No. 7 £1130/£1200

Glad to hear that you're on the mend.
If you insist on doing stuff, try and stick to a gentle hobble so that you don't set yourself back0
