I have a dream...to be a MFW

Apart from milk, bread and maybe some spring onions we have enough food to get us through until Wednesday of next week :j and I have meal planned until next weekend :j:j a couple of the meals are all made up of things we already have in the house which makes life easier. When I do the meal plan for the last week of the month I will attempt to move away from the GF website, I might look through my cookery books this afternoon.MFW 2025 No. 7 £1130/£1200

I managed to stay away until 12 and didn't spend any of my own money
I did however leave all my spare life bags on the trolley at the supermarket so now only have 4
I saw a couple of tables that might work for us but am going to do some research online this afternoon. I also walked around homebase and B&M to get ideas fr our house when I was struck with a strange revelation. We moved into our house 2 years ago never really needing this size of house upstairs but needing the space for Mr AJM to teach downstairs. People at work often joke that we don't need this size of house and I have wondered whether we need to downsize at some point when we stop working. However in our current situation with DHs son getting in touch and there being 5 of them actually means we are using the whole house now! I am going to discuss with Mr AJM what we are going to do with the spare room now it actually has a use as a spare room. The fold-down bed we have in there is fine but ideally we could do with making it into a bedroom/study. I am amazed at my thought process because it must mean I have come to terms with my new situation and family and I am really looking forward to getting around to making the house a home for my extended family.MFW 2025 No. 7 £1130/£1200

That's a lovely idea AJ - it must be really tough when marrying someone who already has children - whether they are younger or older and then taking them on as part of your own family. It must me lovely for your DH that you are starting to feel like this.0

Exciting times AJ - so you can initiate the hug next time.
A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effortMortgage Balance = £0

Our cleaner forgot to take her money this morning so she has just popped round to pick it up and said she had done some of my ironing as she finished quickly. I know Tilly will be upset with me but it should mean I have longer to go for a walk.
I would like to thank Natty for encouraging me to suggest the food diary. I haven't bothered to note down my bloating over the last week as I have had so many stomach problems but I am more aware of what I am eating which will be helping in the long run. I have also stopped eating so much although that might be due to not feeling 100%. It is also helping with my meal planning as we don't eat nearly enough fruit and veg so I am trying to add more in.
I won't be spending any money on my walk later so I have transferred today's £10 into my savings account.MFW 2025 No. 7 £1130/£1200

I did it, I have just been for a 4 mile walk. It was only around the local streets but it is better than nothing and it was at quite a good pace too. I hope to do the same route tomorrow, if the weather stays nice then I will go on one of the local trails instead. I live right on the edge of a small town where there are loads of trails and footpaths so I really have no excuse. I may have found a shortcut to one of them while I was on my walk too.MFW 2025 No. 7 £1130/£1200

Well done - walking is the way forward (unless you are walking backwards of course) as it is free and low impact on joints etc.
I walked the dog this morning, then walked to the post office and not-so-local Collect+ store and was feeling pretty pleased with myself - especially as I had resisted chips and crisps today. DH has just phoned and said how about a dog walk in the country tonight ending at a nice pub for dinner - how can I refuse? Except that it has just started raining so maybe notI’m a Senior Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Pensions, Annuities & Retirement Planning, Loans
