Thanks MMM, you definitely will be doing better when you get your extra money :T
Dinner is smelling really good, shame we need to wait an hour until we eat it.

Good MSE news, we both have some extra work with council music activities next week and I assumed the Saturday and Sunday were full days and evenings but they finish by tea time each day so if I am organised enough with the slow cooker we should be able to save money and eat at home rather than out. There is also a mid-week session so I will need to re-assess the meal plan to factor this in and try and make something to take with us, if not then at least we will only need to eat out once. It is a shame, we used to eat out all the time and loved it but since I have started cooking more varied meals at home we don't really like eating out.

With another planned for tomorrow, getting a lift with Mr AJM towards his work in the morning and walking home.

Walking isn't really the issue it is running/swimming etc. I have enjoyed what I have done so far this week but it is unrealistic to think I can still do this when I am back at work next week. I think I will aim for a half hour walk on work days and then an hour on days off and try and build up from that. It may mean I get company on my walks then too :D

Anyway I have just got in from just under 6 miles of walking and now have the rest of the day to do what I want. Need to get some milk, bread and fruit so will make up my list and go shopping, I would like to be back here by 12.

Hi aj - what cookbook did you buy? I've been resisting for ages but I have the urge to buy a new one although I don't have anything specific in mind.

The good food cook book from the BBC, I spend so much time on their website that it made sense to buy it. There are some recipes from the site but plenty that I haven't see either, I already have one of them into my meal plan.

  • I'll have to have a look - quite a few of our favourite recipes have been torn out of GF magazine over the years :)
