    Sorry that I'm not too great with this stuff as always had orange broadband. Is there anything we can actively do keep this as like many others, when my husband renewed in July it was an integral part of him renewing. They have already gone back on my contract an snot added what was agreed onto my account and now say there is no taped conversation of mine to verify what we agreed. So fed up with orange but don't think eithe rod us can get out of contract can we?
    A happy wife, and mum to 2 lovely little boys :j

    Have you looked at the BIG thread on this subject? There's lots of info there on what people are doing.

    Bottom line though - if/when Orange withdraw the free BB they'll withdraw it. All you can do is work out what solution YOU want to this (that doesn't involve Orange keeping giving you the free BB - they won't).

    Hi All.

    Had the letter today and really made my blood boil as I had specifically asked about the 'free broadband'. No matter what Orange says this was a carrot to make people sign up and forms part of the 'contract'.

    I signed up for 24 months on the 20th of September for 2 years and 51 pounds a month. Ive been with Orange for years.:eek:

    After getting the 'its not our problem' approach from the customer services. I gave it to them.

    I told them as far as i was concerned they had broken the contract. I was returning their handset to them today and then cancelling my direct debit as well as writing to them.

    So wiped the phone- broke the sim- went to the Orange shop.

    Relayed my tale to a blank faced staff member 'We can't accept it'.

    'Well i^m going to leave it here with my name and you do whatever you want to'

    Nice horrible e-mail right back at Orange when i got home.:rotfl:

    I now have no phone but still got some self respect.

    I guess they gonna send this to some collection agent and they gonna get the same. 'Take me to court'.

    I don't want to go but they deserve it and i hope the judge has an orange contract!!

    I think people need to fight back a bit. Taking it laying down is not an option for me.

    Will keep you posted.

    :mad::mad:
  • An Orange spokesperson says: "Following a review of our home broadband portfolio, we can confirm that we will shortly be making changes to our free broadband plan.

    "Rest assured, customers will be able to remain on their current plan. However, moving forward, we will require them to replace their existing line rental provider with our own competitively priced service."

    What dos this part of the quote mean...remain on current plan, when, until the end of my mobile contract?
  • Orange sent us a letter a while ago stating that they would be cutting our "free broadband for life" off on the 17th November. This date came and went and we still had free broadband, however I had already made queries with o2, and we were going to go with them as it was only £6.50 per month. I asked orange for a MAC code and they said they would email it to me..never received that email. i rang them again and got it over the phone. However, I didnt bother to do anything else as we still had broadband. Yesterday, 10 days before Xmas when I needed to be doing my last online ordering etc...they cut it off. On ringing them to confirm thats what they had done, i asked for my MAC code again (as I had lost the original), they said that they would email it out to me, but it would take 5-7 days. I am now without internet, totally stuffed by orange just before Xmas. Quite honestly, if I wasn't a bankrupt, I would leave them altogether...absolutely disgusting company. Can anyone tell me if there are any updates to what can be done?

    Hi,

    Do you still have your Orange Mobile contract? and at renewal were you told your free BB was included in your bundle? and would continue.
    If so, go to this link, after a long struggle Orange are now honouring this offer until your mobile contract ends;

    https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/4133021

    They will only reinstate the free BB if you complain and were mis-sold your mobile contract.

    On that page you will find my collated post on what to do - I hope this helps and good luck.
  • Orange is top of the list............for complaints that is :)

    http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/technology-20768990

    "Internet service provider Orange has knocked TalkTalk off the top position in Ofcom's broadband complaints chart.

    Figures for the third quarter of 2012 show a higher proportion of Orange customers lodged complaints about its broadband services than any other firm.

    The spike in complaints is believed to be linked to Orange's withdrawal of a free broadband offer"

    brilliant, and some people thought that complaining would not get anywhere.
