How far do you commute to work?

Mine is a 40 minute drive (25 miles) from Rugby to Banbury, which i really love as it's nice clear country roads - it gives me time to get myself refreshed and in gear for work in the morning, and to unwind on the way home!0

Roughly 55 minutes each way for me, which breaks down as
7 Minutes to walk to station
41 minutes on train and
7 minutes walk from station to work.
Which is an improvement on the 80 + minutes each way it used to take me , before we moved offices.0 -
I'm lucky. My work is about a mile away, a 4 minute bus or car journey. I walk home some days.0

My last commute was 90 miles 1h 50m twice daily.
If I'm fortunate to get a role my next commute will be 230 miles 3h 45m twice weekly.0 -
Sorry mate.
228 miles or 241 miles depending on which interchange I go for for trains.Once a week lol. It's for my second job. Main job's only 1.8 miles.
Doesn't count then... I do mine 5 days a week and occasional weekend day.

Same here OP. When i took my current job, I was offered two very similar jobs. I took Job A because it was on my doorstop, and Job B was over the other side of town, right near a moterway junction and a nightmare at rush hour.
Three years later, Job A has now relocated practically on the doorstep of Job B. We have been offered nothing and now a ten minute journey takes an hour. I hate itThe opposite of what you know...is also true0 -
I drive 260 miles a day. I've done this for 2 years this month, driving from Birmingham (home) to London (work)
Birmingham, M42 -> M40 -> M25 -> work an 8 hour day -> M25 -> M40 -> M42 -> Home.
I find it quite pleasant, albeit occasionally tiring.0 -

That's why I feel I am being a bit spoilt, I took the job based on distance mainly hence why the pay cut didn't bpther me too much. Now looks like I'll need a better car and be spending more money on travel etc.
Am looking for a new job. I have till December 25th to find a better one!:cool:0 -
I do Aylesbury to Heathrow so about an hour each way (Approx 43 miles a journey)
Some days are better than others but at the end of the day it has to be done .. until i get a job closer to home
Whats not nice at the moment is for the last week or so my sciatic nerve has been making my drive rather unpleasant :mad:Ant. :cool:0
