If your waiting to here from BT officialy about the increase,s so you can give notice it may be a while before you can do so.
"How will you tell people about the price changes?
We are making every effort to ensure that everyone gets full notice of the price changes well in advance of 5 January 2013.
If you receive a bill in the post, you'll get details about the price changes in BT Update magazine, sent with bills during September, October and November. If you've chosen not to receive marketing literature, we'll send details in a letter with your bill between September and November instead. If you view your bill online, we'll send you an email with all the details during September and October. Look out for an email from bt.athome@bt.com. This will be separate to any emails saying your bill is available to view online. If we think you might not have got the email, we'll also send you a letter."

1st post and Thanks utility broker..
BT Stink and I will be looking VERY carefully and hoping I can get out of a CONtract I signed up for in March this year, which unfortunaely is for 18 months..
Nothing but trouble after signing up to Option 1 with 10 gigabytes per month allowance...May 2 I was "estimated" to have used 4 gigabytes in ONE day!!..I asked for an explanation but got what everyone else gets--"we are right"...The BT Forum is littered with such posts and I've e-mailed BT twice in the last 2 weeks for an explanation + a hand written letter to their Durham office and received no reply...
Worst of all I ask them to put replies in writing and I just get a call centre calling me.....this has happened 5 times!..
I'm awaiting a reply to 3 complaints and sick and tired of BT and regret leaving AOL,who's customer service was bad but better than BT..
Loyal Customers on BT Forums are finding after 5 -6 years of being with Bt they are finding their usage rising for no apparent reason and like me compelled to pay more and "upgrade"( pay more ) for Option 2..
Customer Service is the worst though when they totally ignore polite requests not to call me and seem reluctant to put anything in writing.
As for the call centres I can hardly make the accents out and was told by one agent--"that no usage was used for 2 days" !!! only to find later this was not the case...
QUESTION--Will BT be sending out this "price increase" with the Monthly Bill........It's just I'm going to America for 13 nights on Wednesday and would like the chance to leave this rotten company.
Edited to add My last Bill came out on Aug 25...though I will be back by Spt 250 -

See the quote in Utility Brokers post above.Which tells you BT,s plans for sending out info. They apparently could send it out with Sept,Oct,or Nov bills. So keep your eyes peeled for the BT update mag.;)0 -
Many thanks jhp and will be back on the 25th Spt which was the day in August I got my bill...
In fact I'm going to check the last one in case somethings buried there..
No reply to handwritten letter or e-mails shows how bad Bt are and best for both parties to move on...even if I lose 9 months of the yearly line I paid up for in June..

Thank you, that's good to know.0

Hello Everyone,
I want to leave BT and would be grateful for advice on the following issue:
In May of this year I paid up front for a 12 month line rental contract, if I left BT would I receive a refund on this contract? Also, similarly, would I receive a small refund for the monthly Broadband fee which is paid a month in Advance?
Thanking you for any comments.

You would most certainly not get a refund on the LRS payment - that's one of the T&Cs.Time has moved on (much quicker than it used to - or so it seems at my age) and my previous advice on residential telephony has been or is now gradually being overtaken by changes in the retail market. Hence, I have now deleted links to my previous 'pearls of wisdom'. I sincerely hope they helped save some of you money.0

The phone you can get out of, bit the broadband maybe the stingDon't put your trust into an Experian score - it is not a number any bank will ever use & it is generally a waste of money to purchase it. They are also selling you insurance you dont need.0 -
"The phone you can get out of, bit the broadband maybe the sting"
That's what I suspect Chanz4 and would not drop the phone LR and just wait for the contract to expire..
No reply to e-mail of over 2 weeks ago or handwritten letter to Customer Services.......I will just continue to recommend people stay away from this company...0 -
But it's made absolutely clear that LRS is not refundable when you sign up for it.No free lunch, and no free laptop
