Plans for today:
- take a trip to my local Curves gym to see if it's worth joining (anyone got any experience of them?) .
Hi, Donna! Glad you enjoyed NZ - it's on our list for when we're *child free*. I seem to remember having experience of curves- but then found OS, and lost my waistline! Sorry, re-read - no experience of Curves Gym
Math - hope your mum's soon better.
Queenie - how many quail do you have? Are they reliable layers?
Happy Birthday Ruby Pudding
The children have put in a request for Thai Green curry. Thanks Rzl - your chana daal reminded me.We've used jars of paste in the past, and suggestions for OS way, or where I might get the jars - my local has stopped stocking them.

Morning all, Haven't read the thread yet but wanted to pop on and wish donna good luck for today
edit: just read through and I see it went well with your parents last night :grouphug: I hope things continue in the same vein.
This morning I have surface-cleaned the house (as in everything looks spik and span, but please don't open any cupboards or closed doors :rotfl: ) as my landlord has been round to pick up some mail. 2 washloads done, and one more to go (there are only 2 of us, HOW is there so much?!). This afternoon I am going to get the promotional material ready for my new business venture... After the success of my Xmas Pamper Hampers I made for people, I have had non-stop requests to make baskets up for people so I have decided to make them for a profit. Will be family, friends and workmates to start with, but hopefully word of mouth will increase my base. If you're interested in looking at the ones I have already done, the pics are on my Photobucket here.
I hope everything settles down here... Amie and Smoky please come back...
Have a good Thursday xxx0 -
Please don't shout at me for doing a double post, but my edit button doesn't seem to be working  Anyone any ideas? Seems to be playing up on other forums I visit aswel so may be a comp problem rather than a MSE one?
Anyway, I wanted to edit into my post now I have read the thread:

Hi
Wet and horrible here
Just done the vacuuming, mopping, dusting and filling in some holes - it was horrible, kept hurting my finger on the vacuum and in the mood from hell just now - why is housework so infuriating? Would much rather do the garden but far too wet!
Shall do my nails when I have calmed down and do sweet fa later on!
Happy Birthday Ruby Pudding:)An average day in my life:hello: :mad: :coffee::coffee::coffee::T:rotfl: :rotfl:

Just been a proper good money saving Nelski and swopped my mortgage over for a new rate and hopefully a quicker pay off. Cant believe for years I stayed with the same company not even looking for better deals - now I should be payed off way before time thanks to a bit of shopping around.
Off this avvy to Scotland for a working day tomorrow. This time I am refusing to pay silly money for a hilton room service tuna butty (always the cheapest thing on the menu but still more than some live on for a week:mad: ) so am going to magic up a proper packed lunch (to be eaten for tea) which will taste much better and will cost me a couple of quid max:D - See queenie its working:rotfl: ok slowly but I am getting there - I will have 10 chickens and a goat running free in my garden by next month honest
Right best get that packed lunch sorted and boogie up to bonny scotland
Hugs all

Morning all!!
Bit grim here this morning, but the sun is trying to break through. Kids woke at 8.10 this morning!! we have to leave at 8.30! Needless to say we didn't make it by then and rolled in to school at 9.20. They are so tired now if I wasn't working I would just keep them home and start their hols early, poor loves.
They are having their photos taken today so went to school positively shining although DS managed to lose his (brand new) sweatshirt but it was found under his chair in his classroom :T albeit rather creased for his photo. Can't wait to see the photos, it's the first year they'll have them taken together.
OS wise not a lot as am at work as always and will be a late one as have a lot to do. Dinner will be salmon with cous cous and salad and then have a couple of loads of washing to do as always. Think the floors need mopping too.
DH got a nice surprise in the post of a cheque for £500 this morning, sadly it was from his gran's estate (she died suddenly just before Christmas), it was a nice surprise but would be nicer to have her here. DH will top up his ISA I guess although I am trying to persuade him to put some towards our summer hols savings.
Am looking forward to the weekend and the weather looks okay too, time for some serious gardening hopefully!!
Have a lovely day all!! MATH - hope your mum improves.

Hi everyone!
Hugs to those who need them. Haven't read yesterday's thread..perhaps best not to eh as the dust seems to have settled.
Queenie- I loved your link for the convenience mixes...can't wait to have a nose and it'll give me the perfect excuse to use up some of those jars I've been hoarding...erm I mean storing!!
I've been quite productive today and have got a dark load done and out and the house hoovered. Best laid plans...thought I would toddle off to the market this lunch time but have had a serious case of oldstyle withdrawal symptoms so am here instead [and anyway it's all nasty and grey outside!!] Shall go Saturday instead with the small person who will no doubt want to do a trawl of the charity shops for Beano annuals [obviously that will be a major hardship to me but I'm sure I will rise to the challenge splendidly:rotfl: :rotfl:
Am I allowed a teeny proud Mummy moment please? We had parents evening [oh sorry parents consultation evening] last night and his teacher said I'm very lucky to have such a fantastic little chappie. It can be a long and lonely road when you have a special needs child and others simply don't understand. I am cockahoop today!!
Tea tonight is kedgeree [with extra eggs boiled for tomorrow's sarnies] and I shall be doing a weekly menu to use up all bits and pieces before doing the next monthly one. I'm going to try out a ratouille roll to use up the rest of the suet from Chrimbo. Looks to be a cheap and nutritious OS meal. Then tomorrow OH and I are out on the RAZZLE. Woo hoo....pub meal here I come and no cooking because already frozen a portion of veggie spag bol for his nibs.
Enough of my incoherent ramblings!!

Hi everyone - another moneysaver new to the daily thread here.
I've been rather halfhearted about moneysaving so far this year, but really mean to get stuck in now - new small person expected in the house early June, & need to practise more of what I preach to friends & family
Went to aquanatal this morning (aerobics in water for pregnant ladies!), only to find it was cancelled, so saved £3.50 by default - lol.
Grey & wet here, likely to be all day, so my washing's in the dryer, but will save by not having the fire on this aft cos' I'm starting to dejunk the spare room in advance of bean's arrival. Having chilli for tea, so that'll warm us up from the inside.
Speaking of food, I've got loads of rosehips in the freezer - apart from syrup, does anyone know any recipes for them?
Off to make list for Asda tomorrow, start on spare room, ironing... oh, yes, meet DS at hairdresser to pay for haircut after school... THEN start tea, start work for stitching magazine... might have time for another sit down before bed! DH thinks now I'm nearly 7 months PG that I sit around all day - hah!
Hope your afternoons are free from care!!!July 2024 GC £0.00/£400
