    Morning all

I am in good spirits this morning after watching "Norn Iron" beat Sweden last night:j

I haven't been on the OS board for a while due to a few reasons. Health and stamina haven't been too good either.

There has been a resolution of sorts with our complaint against Tesco. I have detailed this on the Vent board and also the NI local board.

It is my partner's birthday :bdaycake: on Sunday (April Fool's day) and along with my mother we are going out for a carvery lunch. Looking forward to that.

Hope everyone has a good day

    Morning All

Not had a good start to the morning so far. I have a stomach bug which has had me up and down to the toilet all night, DD helpfully woke early and then switched on a ring on the hob when I was in the loo, my fault forgot to shut the gate. Unfortuatley there was a towel on top of the hob. Next thing I knew the smoke alarm was going off and the whole house is full of smoke. Rushed into the kitchen and there is a nicely aflame towel. Manged to put it out thank god , it didnt half give me a fright.

Anyway will be doing very little today as I feel weak and my stomachs still churning. I deffinately need to do a load of washing or two and think I will sort out my budget as I got payed today.

    Have a good day everyone

    Hiya everyone,

Bit of a drizzly day here today. Off to see Uncle J this morning. Just got out of hospital on Tuesday from a knee op. Will probably whizz the vacume around and wash the floors when I get back as we will be *home alone*. :D I could think of more exciting things to do, but hey ho this is OS after all. ;)

Snowy That's good news. I was wondering about your meeting last night.

Ivyleaf Welcome back. We've missed you. I hope you enjoyed it. You must save up for Oz next time.

Moggins Gee, you really have jam packed a lot of changes into your life in 3 short weeks. Out with the old and in with the new hey. I hope your daughter is coping ok with it all.

Well I better get a move on. I feel really sluggish today. Enjoy your holiday MATH. DO go to the dr's next time with your Mum. It will put your mind at rest. Byeeeeeeeeee

Edited to say: HAPPY BIRTHDAY Ruby Pudding. Enjoy it. :)
Don't worry about the world coming to an end today. It's already tomorrow in Australia. ;)

Well I've had a terrible start to the day:eek: first of all DH's van had a flat battery so I had to get up and try and jump start it but it didn't work so I had to drive him to work, then Ds2 lost his badge he needs for his work experience and I had to turn the house upside down looking for it:rolleyes: then as I was rushing to catch him up my car broke down in the middle of town:mad: turns out DH had loosened the battery terminals:rolleyes: luckily a friend has a garage so he sent a lad out who soon sorted it out:j all this and I hadn't even had a wash, just chucked some old clothes on and rushed out, hate to think what a mess I looked like:eek: am home now and i need of a coffee to calm my nerves!:D am taking a few hours off work to go out later to lunch with my mate so fingers crossed all will go smoothly!

Hope you all have a good day

    take care xxx

A very quick good morning today. Spanish this p.m. and system problems at work making it very difficult to say the least. Got my act into gear last night and set to when I came home to make a tea for us and DS who had hit a brick wall with his dissertation. Luckily it is on a business subject I have experience of so could be a "wooden indian" and get him "unstuck". I think that being able to talk out your problem, even if it is to some who has no clue, but makes inane comments can make the brain kick in again. Had some chicken breasts in the fridge, so filled them with blue cheese and wrapped with bacon, and popped them in the over while I prepared the salad and jackets. Three clean plates is the result we all hope for.

  • Morning all!!:hello:

I am new to the OS board - hope no-one minds me popping in to say hi!! It is horrible and cold here today - a day of studying and cleaning ahead I think!! Still really pleased with my achievement yesterday - I am a terrible cook (working on it though ;) ) and made a yummy banana loaf yesterday - I know its quite basic, but I'm still so pleased with myself!!

oooh and I'm buying my first bottle of Stardrops today too!!

Have a lovely day everyone x

  • good morning all. Did not post yesterday as was too busy looking after very grumpy 3yo with chicken pox but came on in the evening and read what had been going on all day. I hope the thread can continue with the regulars posting. I am a newbie but find everyones advice so valuable. Have been on MSE for a little over 1 month and can honestly say it has changed my life (trying not to sound corny). I have cut our grocery bill in half by cooking from scratch, menu planning and actually writing a shopping list. Have even got DH interested by pointing out how much we could save. I learn new stuff everyday. I never did home ec at school and both parents worked full time so apart from sunday roasts we had ready to cook stuff like fish fingers and oven chips, so am learning all about slow cookers etc. Freezer is now full of HM meals rather than ready meals and haven't resorted to a take away for a month (used to be a weekly occurance). So thats my long rambling way of saying thanks!:T
DD seems better today-not clinging on to my leg for starters so WM already on, DW emptied and planning to clean bathrooms. Have taken HM fish pie out of freezer for dinner tonight to avoid the lure of the take away when tired tonight.
bye for now and well done to anyone who managed to read through that essay!!:D

    Hello again,

Ok, its my fault - the day was beautiful this morning, so we walked to school, and then i walked LO to nursery, came home, had some breakfast and as it was so nice outside, decided i would wash DDs bedding today, instead of the weekend (not sure what the weather is doing). Almost immediatly, a huge black cloud came over, and it didnt just start raining, we had hail as well!!! Im hoping that it will stop soon so i can get it out on the line, DD has been doing so well at the moment staying in her own bed at night, however, any chance she has at getting in with me, she will grab it so i desperately need to get it all dried before tonight, i dont want to give her the opportunity to get in my bed and undo all the hard work of getting her to stay in her own bed!!!
Apart from the washing, i havnt done much this morning, apart from my breakfast and a chocolate galexy egg (which was lovely, although i do feel a bit sick now, serves me right!!!) so better get busy.

    HAPPY BIRTHDAY RUBY PUDDING

Joannasmum - hope you are feeling better soon xxx

MATH - enjoy your hols, hope your mum will soon be feeling much better xxx

Taplady - hope your day gets better xxx

WELCOME atypicalblonde - hope you enjoy yourself on OS!!!

((HUGS)) to anyone ive missed, or who would just like one

    Take care xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
