I'm confused - is this yesterday's or today's thread?! Does it matter? (just realised this is the 29th!! thought it was the 30th. doh!)
I'm working away this week so leaving all the problems at home! Did get a message from DD1 last night to say DD2 had dyed her hair bright pink but that was a wind up....Better than the goth black she had a few months ago anyway.
Getting another builder out for a quote at the weekend so hopefully it won't be as scary as the first. If it is I'll just have to investigate finance options which is an absolute bummer having almost reached debt free status
I'm sorry so many of you have so many challenges on the go at the moment - big virtual hugs coming your way.
Hope everyone finds some joy today

Hello! Hope you don't mind me joining in, never posted on the daily thread before :hello:
I just realised that OS is rubbing off on me subconsciously - I've just been cleaning out the fridge (shared student house, hadn't been done in ages so I finally caved in and did it - oh the downside of being the only girl in a house of 6  !) - and anyway, the power spray nasty stuff I was using wasn't even touching it, so I ferreted out my trusty bottle of stardrops from under the sink and the job was done in minutes!
Our bathroom woke us up charmingly at 7am by stinking of rotten eggs, so at least the knowledge that the fridge is clean is cheering me up!
Hope you all have a lovely day, I'm back off to the coalface of translation :rotfl:2007 Bronze Olympic Challenge: Total £1057.34 :jDFW Nerd 269: Proud To Be Dealing With My Debts0 -
Morning everyone.
WM on, DW emptied, BM on - I'm going for Chollah bread today for a change. Lamb chops out of freeazer for OH dinner.
Plans for today:
- take a trip to my local Curves gym to see if it's worth joining (anyone got any experience of them?) . I've recently come back from a month in New Zealand and I've put on half a stone. Although I'm gradually shifting it through dieting, I'm longing for some hm Choc CHip cookies; a couple of days ago I fell into temptation and snuffled a gorgeous Gu pudding; last night I scoffed a small bar of Lindt 70% choc that was destined for the cookies... so I really need to do some exercise on a regular basis so that I can give in to temptation without the resultant even-more-wobbly spare tyre
- get on my bike for the third time this week, this time do a 3.5 mile trip including negotiating a bridge twice.
- make mushroom soup for dinner today and lunch tomorrow
- make several tips to the trip to dispose of the enormous amount of pampass grass that I "pruned" yesterday
- usual flylady swish & swipe stuff
Sorry to hear about your mum, Math. And Kiwichick, I hope you recover from your fall soon.
Hugs to everyone that needs one.0 -

Welcome atypicalblonde :hello: - I saw a post of yours somewhere the other day, and was wondering whether your username was "A Typical Blonde" or the opposite, "Atypical Blonde"Or is that the point? (I think I have too much time on my hands
)
Edit: welcome also to Tumbleweed :hello:
On the way home from work yesterday I varied my route a little and found a proper OS greengrocer's shop :j :j Although I don't think I will be doing my main fruit & veg shop there (as Lewisham Market and some of the market stalls in Peckham are cheaper) it will be useful for top-ups. Proper "service with a smile" and lovely looking produce! The shop is on the same parade as a butcher I've been recommended on another website, but annoyingly the butcher is only open until 4pm which means I can't go there on my way home from work. If I want to shop there I'll have to go down at lunchtime and store my purchases in the office fridge until home time.
Then I had a completely chaotic evening. It started with a chocolate binge and I never did get round to having a proper supperI finished writing an opera review (I now have none outstanding :j) and later, I had one of my "it's 10pm and now I fancy doing the housework" moments, which ended in a late night but a much tidier flat!
I was a bit annoyed with myself for not doing any cooking, though. After digging through the freezer I found one solitary portion of aduki bean stew, for today's lunch, and now I have completely run out of "home made ready meals" and soup portions. I do however have the ingredients for several things to be made over the next few days: leek & potato soup, macaroni cheese, apple crumble, banana & honey muffins, curried chana dal (thanks for all the ideas on my thread on the subject) and coconut chicken (recipe off the back of a tin of coconut milk - it it works I'll share the details!)
Tonight I am going to a leaving do for a much liked and respected colleaguebut really must persuade myself to leave early enough and sober enough to get at least one of the above meals cooked, or I will have nothing ready for lunch tomorrow and will no doubt end up blowing £6 on a posh takeaway at Borough Market (any excuse!)
Right, far too much to do at w**k and they're paying me to get it done rather than to sit yakking to you lot all day, so need to get going
Love Rzl xx :wave:Operation Get in Shape

Good morning on this horrible grey day!
:bdaycake: Happy Birthday Ruby Pudding!! Hope it's a good one!
Welcome to atypicalblonde and tumbleweed :hello: Hope you'll be happy here. It's not always like yesterday, sometimes it's worse:rotfl: (sorry, just had to point out the elephant in the corner;) )
Haribo you'd better not be reading this "live" so to speak! Go do some work!:D
Math hope your mum is recovering from her fall, hope she gets sorted what's wrong. Enjoy your hols. Me jealous, never:o
Snowy glad things went better than expected, they'll be backtracking 'cos you're right!!:D Now they just need to be big enough to admit it.
dlb Thinking of you today, but pleased the reconciliation with your mum was so successful:D
Charlies_mum Thought Wickes was a DIY storeI'd be careful testing that wine:rotfl:
Aussie go with exciting, floors can wait;) (that'll be cleaning windows then:rotfl: )
(((((((hugs)))))) to all that need them.
OS wise for me? Quick tidy round then some cooking to use up the mountains of ingredients I keep buying, but don't get round to using:oCan't make anything that will need freezer-space though, the door will hardly close as it is:rotfl: Ooh that'll need to be cakes and biscuits then:D
Take care,

Morning All, I've been lurking here for a while and it seems a friendly place.
I've been dropped at the boyfriends flat this morning, partly to use the WM as mine is broken, and partly to clean the place up ready to rent out so the OH can officially move in.
It's going to take all my Flylady tips and OS skills to do and I am probably going to ask for lots of advice. I'm doing 15 mins work, 15 mins off as that's my physical limit. And I just know that if the boy spends any time here it will all need repeating. Oh wellTarget 1: Pay off Alders by July 2007(done), Target 2: Clear overdraft by end of 2007

Welcome to tumbleweed Astroelle atypicalblonde.
Okay I'm going now. i think the clue that I'm spending far too much time on here is the dream I had last night. I was in a taxi office and lots of your avatars had come to life and joined me while Martin was on the telly in the background. :eek:0 -
