Hi, this is the Daily Thread for Thu 29 Mar. This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything OS and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an OS natter. The more the merrier!

When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem, we’re a laid back bunch here so you won’t hear any complaints. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread
after they get up in the morning

Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “hi everyone, hope everyone’s well” type start does just as well.

:hello: Goooooood Morning Fellow OS’ers

No, I haven’t slept and I’m not going to lie about that! I *should* have slept by now, but I haven’t. Nor am I in the right frame of mind to sleep – some people just need a donkey to kick and tonight/this morning, I feel like that donkey! Will I let it get me down? Like frunklymunklybunklystumphul will I!!!!!!!

We all have our “sensitive” days, I know this, I have them myself – and we all lash out at those who we feel are nearest to the mark; so … I will sleep shortly, safe in the knowledge that I meant no offense, but for those who took it, that is their responsibility, not mine. Ah the online life of a forumite!

In real life, when I do finally awake from what I hope is a restful nights sleep, I have a heap of ironing and yet more washing to content with. Who manufactures all this extra curriculum activites???????

While that is going on, I shall endeavour to do some revision/practise for the forthcoming 5 exams I have to take in the next few weeks; yeah right!!

The assault case that I reported several weeks ago isn’t going swimmingly, seems our local constabulary has only just ‘located’ the offender – this is despite the fact the ‘offender’ attends school 5 days out of every 7 yet eludes the clutches of “The Law” over 9 weeks (wow! Amazing that *we* know where the offender has been … bragging, boasting and gloating over assaulting my d12yo these past 9 weeks!!!) Heaven help us if our County has anything SERIOUS to detect, they’ll be as lost as brass monkies in a heat wave! Oh and can you believe it, the ‘offender’ having had all these weeks knowing they are being sought after has now decided there are counter allegations to be made? Wow, really? Sure, I’d never be able to think up some counter offense in 8 weeks of being ‘sought’

But, on a positive note … I’m hoping my chook is ready to come back into lay and free range eggs will be the order of the day. If the quails come into lay soon too, it will make my investment of layers mash well worth while – though it doesn’t feel like it right now!

Contrary to those who felt less secure than my experience has taught me, I shall be using the Convenience Mix I posted at the weekend to do another batch bake tomorrow. Rah, rah, wiggle hips!!! I know this will save me both time and money :D:D:D:D

And now, the end is near … and now I face, …. The final curtain ..

Oh stomp!!! Sorry didn’t mean to break into song, but you get the drift!

Have a great moneysaving Thursday :D  (((Hugs)))) to those who need them!!!!

    Good morning everyone.:hello:

I have been to bed, or rather, been to the sofa, where I fell asleep watching Desperate Housewives.:o I have woken up at 4.30 feeling rather energised.

My first plan of the day is to remove the battery from the laptop and hide it so i can actually get on with some work today. For 3 days now I have made lists that have come nowhere near getting ticked off and I'm getting cross with myself now.
I even had to resort to Pink-Winged's trick of spraying the polish into the air before OH came home.:o ;) However I forgot her caveat that it would make the floor slippy and her whole family had gone done like a pack of cards and have ended up with a bruised behind myself.:o :rotfl: Serves me right I hear you cry.

I did intend to be OS yesterday and bought lots of baking ingredients but somehow the big bar of chocolate 'd intended for the brownies made it's way into my hand. unwrapped itself and popped into my tummy.:o :o:o But hey.....I'm worth it. :p
So today I plan to give the house a really good clean, go to the bank and Post Office, make meatballs for tea and the freezer and file all my paperwork. :D
Yes i know it sounds alot like yesterday's list but I promise to actually achieve something today.

((((Big Hugs)))) to Smokey and her OH (hope his health improves soon) and to Kiwichick. i'm sure you're getting the help you need but keep taking care.:kisses3:
Moggins I'm glad you're enjoying life.;)
Snowy How are you getting on with w**k? (((hugs)))
Queenie Sorry you feel like a donkey.
    Happy Birthday Ruby Pudding:bdaycake:
Ok, I'm off to empty DW and put some more bread on.

    Love and hugs to everyone.

Morning HariboJunkie....unlike yourself I've been to bed! I guess Moggins and Queenie are tucked up and snoring away now (not together of course, OMG!)

KiwiChick, your poor wee thing, what a horrible accident for you to have. I know you are getting the care you need, but look after yourself. It was lovely to see you back but what an awful turn of events it took for us to see you again. Keep well and I hope your recovery is speedy.

My employers seem to have reconsidered disciplining me...well, they've had me meet with the supervisor concerned to sort things out directly, and have stopped mentioning the disciplinary they were threatening. I will get them to confirm it today. I think it's because they realise how much they have antagonised me over this episode, even though they were breaking the law. They have upset and annoyed me but not one of them has the courage to actually say sorry to me for the anxiety and stress they have put me through this past week due to their failings.

Old Style in my house...oh don't make me laugh! I am so behind with everything, there is clutter all over the place, big piles of washing waiting to be done, and I haven't as much as made a sandwich to bring to work for lunch in about a fortnight now. Sometimes I just have to throw my arms in the air, have a bit of a holiday and not worry about it. I'll sort it at the weekend, but for now I can't be bothered. Is that Old Style. Errr no, it's not but I don't give a monkey's wotsit as it suits me fine.

Have a fabulous Thursday everyone...and even after yesterday's unpleasantness I hope to see a full house posting today!

    Bye for now

Snowyowl - i know what you mean - it all seems to have slipped a bit here too - it's amazing what you can get used to though in terms of mess if you try really hard (and close some doors) and what your priorities are - my loo is a shining oasis in a bathroom of clutter at the moment because no matter what I clean that twice a day - my kitchen sink is the same - Flylady brainwashing I guess.
I have come to a sort of compromise with exdh in that on nights when he stays over he will provide dinner - fish and chips last night - what luxury!
On the O/S front I did manage to start some HM wine and plant some leaf salad this week so I won't have to buy any more of those nasty washed in bleach and puffed up with chemicals salad bags soon.
Well must get ready for w**k
    have a good day
I'm going to feed our children non-organic food and with the money saved take them to the zoo - half man half biscuit 2008

Must remember to put the dishwasher on before leaving, must take clothes off airer and put a wash in on when I get home (has been sitting waiting in the machine for a couple of days now!)
Just spent a stupid amount sending my sister a birthday present because I wont have chance to see her on the day to give her something AND I have no idea what she'd like anyway so I got her some chocolates delivered (because they were cheaper than flowers...tisk tisk...couldn't go on asda or tesco for flowers because she's a snob!) sooooo hope she's happy with them and hasn't gone off on holiday for her birthday so she isn't there when they arrive! I honestly haven't got a clue what she's up to, just didn't want to appear rude and get her nothing at all!

Going to work in 10 minutes, had nightmares about it last night :( didn't get home until 9pm yesterday BUT resisted getting take away AND am not having such a long day today so all is well.

    Good morning everyone,

dlb - good luck later today xxx

I dont feel like i have any energy this morning - luckily i dont have much to do/planned.

Only one LO here again (the other one has been on holiday with her dad, and the next two weeks are school holidays, and she doesnt come then either, but it will be back to her normal days after that) and she is at nursery this morning, so my last day off - should do something constructive with my morning, but probably wont!!!

Right, need to go and take the fish out of the freezer for dinner tonight, forgot to do it last night - due to the fact that DS went out to play, came in at 7 and then deided he needed to deorate his eggs for todays Easter Eggstravaganza at school, but he didnt have a clue what to do!!! Well, mummy (and omputer) to the rescue, we've printed out some Simpsons characters, painted the eggs yellow, but paper tissue clothes on them and this morning we will be sticking the faces on!!! DD made an Easter bonnet on Sunday, so she was already ready.

    Have a lovely day everyone,
    Take care xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Good morning all! New day - new start. I'm now on 3 weeks off w***. Well, that's not completely true - I need to do some w*** from home, and pop into the office a couple of times, but no clients, no appointemnts. Bliss!

I'll be jumping right back onto that Flylady wagon (if they'll still have me _pale_  ) and getting my home back in order.

Will be out in the garden, too. I have sweetcorn and flowers to plant, and lots of weeding. We're replacing a line of old, dead hedge, so all the wood from that needs chopping and storing to burn next winter. I think Flyladying my wood shed might be a job that I'll enjoy :D DH often says it's the tidiest room on our property ;)

Queenie - are you down to a single chook now? Our hens have been laying for some weeks, and I was reading in *Smallholder* magazine yesterday that even seeing one lighted window will increase their length of lay.

Kiwichick - good to see you back. Look after yourself.

Hugs to dlb. Hope it's not as bad as you fear.

Have a great day, Penny. x
