    Morning everyone

Wet and miserable here in Worcester, my beautiful pink cherry tree is looking a bit bedraggled now. Yesterday it was full of bees and butterflies.

Lazy day for me as my mum is coming over and we will probably do a bit of shopping.

Easter eggs for the kids are top of the list. Need to track down nut-free egg for dd ;) M&S have them I think. Will have to try and persuade mum not to buy them Easter presents as well - don't know where that idea has come from, but Easter is not Christmas in my house.

I'm also out of sunflower seeds so will call at Holland and Barrett. My kids like them toasted with soy sauce -like those expensive tubs of seeds you can get at Lakeland but much cheaper.

Have made American pancakes for breakfast served with liberal amounts of golden syrup.

Might have lunch out with mum, but the kids have got leftover cornbread and frankfurters in their lunch boxes, plus fruit and carrot and banana cake.

Supper - need something quick on Thursdays as mum being here after school seems to delay me a bit so it's the nation's favourite -
Spag Bol :D Sauce is ready made in the freezer (I mean ready made by me of course ;) )

Have a good day everyone :)

    Morning all

DLB - Hope all goes well today for you.
Math - Have a lovely time at the coast.

Foggy and damp here this morning - It's all my fault too - I finally put the washing line back up yesterday....sorry about that!

Spent a good few hours in the garden again yesterday - it has to look worse before it gets better right??? Paying for it today though as I can hardly move....ah well at least it's free exercise.

Today I'll be dejunking DD1's room, I'm going to decorate it during the easter hols (with her help) but then realised this morning that with all the days out we've got planned and a trip up to Bristol for 4 days, that we've only got 3 days left in which to strip, decorate and lay a new floor....hmmmm - I'm sure it will all come good.

Fridge needs a dejunk too - seem to have lots of bits of different cheeses that need using or chucking - will grate what I can and freeze. Really fed up with food at the moment - does anyone else find that - I've no inspiration, don't fancy anything and look at the full cupboard and freezer and just go blank. Will no doubt suss something out for dinner but not quite sure what - failing that I might just resort to the chip van (I like Thursdays!!).

Hope you all have a great day.

To everyone thats doing something nice today...enjoy.
To those of you who have a more unpleasant day instore....hug.gif

    Morning!

Off for a swim soon and then I want to have a play with some chocolate easter egg moulds I have been given by a friend. There are also some lovely animal shape moulds to use which would be great for kiddies birthdays or Christmas.

Hoping to make up a batch of Queenies baking mix and some pancakes and waffles for the freezer as we have lots of eggs to use up.

((((Hugs)))) to Math, PP, Kiwichick, Smokey, Amie, dlb and anyone else who needs them!

Morning everyone. Yesterday was a shame, wasn't it? it had quite a nice atmosphere and then turned right around.

Moggins - sounds like you're having a lovely time - and you sound really happy, so it's lovely to hear. ;)

Haribo Junkie, I too am planning to make meatballs today! and I'm planning some cleaning too, I think. And washing. Oh, does the excitement never end?!?

Amie and Smokey. please come back...

Penny-Pincher, hope the hospital visits go okay.

dlb, hope today goes as well as these things can go.

Rubu Pudding, happy birthday! Like the sound of your birthday presents, yummy...

Math, hope your mum feels better soon, we all have heart issues in my family, I have an irregular heartbeat and my 15 year old nephew has not long has his second bout of heart surgery, so I empathise, it's all worrying stuff. (My nephew is up and about and being an irritating teenager again already, by the way). I too glaze over at the doctors!

Our DW is still not plumbed in but on a brighter note, we now have 5 garlic and 8 onions poking their heads up in the garden, and I also have 8 cabbages germinating! Our leaf salad needs thinning urgently so if it brightens up later I'll be planting out my thinnings as I've got a cloched raised bed just waiting for them. I've taken three tomato seedlings down to the mini greenhouse as well, i hope they're alright.

Ooh, I've just noticed on the calendar that someone is coming to fit us a new gas meter today - there was a card one here and we've been spending £20+ a week on it - our gas bill used to be about £14 a month, so it's a bit of a shock to the system. I'm still in my PJs :o so I'd better go get dressed, just in case they arrive soon!

Eek, and tidy up a bit too, come to think of it...

    Morning all,

Hugs to those who haven't slept well.

Kiwichick, Sorry to hear about what happened to you. I hope you feel better soon.
Snowy, glad to hear yesterday went well….they should have apologised though!
Dlb, I hope today goes ok, at least you've seen your mum again.
Amie and smokybabe, I hope you'll both be back posting again soon.

It was a mad morning here. Dh slept in and as he is the alarm clock for the the rest of us, it meant that everyone overslept. Add to that ds2 being over-excited about his school trip to the post office today and the loo handle coming off in ds1's hand meant a totally chaotic start to the day for us all.

Anyway it's a lovely sunny day here so it's just a quick hello from me this morning as I want to get the washing out on the line and get something in the slow cooker for tea before I go out to Homestart.

Ruby Pudding, I just noticed it's your birthday! Enjoy your day! :bdaycake:

    Have a good day everyone.

    Morning all

What a grey miserable day here today. I only have 2 days of work left and I am now counting down the hours. Went to have dinner with some friends last night which was really nice, but didn't get to bed until 11.30 which is way past my bedtime. (I obviously do not have the same stamina as moggins :D), now feel a bit sleepy and jaded. Although that may have something to do with the wine last night :o:D

OH is away tonight so will have something from the freezer just for me for dinner. It's when it's cold and miserable and I pull something yum and comforting from the freezer with no effort that I appreciate my OSing even more. I am making chocolate brownies tonight too to take into work on Friday. Might try the celebrations one posted on the recipe thread as we have some of those in the cupboard, I hope they all make it into the mixture..

    Hope everyone has a great day x x x

    ...

Queenie - are you down to a single chook now? Our hens have been laying for some weeks, and I was reading in *Smallholder* magazine yesterday that even seeing one lighted window will increase their length of lay....

I've only ever had the one - a liberated battery hen. She was a right sorry state when I got her, more oven ready looking than is healthy and only laid soft shells. She's now well fed, all her feathers are back and she looks a fine specimen :D:D Just waiting for the eggs to flow! Thanks for the tip on the window.

moggins ... oooh you lucky thing! :j
donna - thinking of you today ((hugs))
MATH - sorry to hear about your Mum :( Hope they get to the bottom of it.
To those going away for the weekend .. bon voyage and have heaps of FUN!!

On the menu today, will be:

B: (bit late, overslept :o ) HM yogurt with mixed seed topping
L: Soup (it's quite drab outside!)
D: Meatballs :D Don't know why but I've had a craving for those the past few days

The ironing is really calling, but I think I need another coffee before I trust myself with a hot impliment.

:bdaycake: Happy Birthday Ruby Pudding :bdaycake:
