Happy Birthday Rubypudding!:bdaycake:
I did 10 lengths this morning! Shattered now but happy I did it! I am meant to be doing some baking but collapsed in front of Midsomer Murders and did some of my knitting instead.
Got a lovely surprise this morning, lovely friends had sent me a beautiful bunch of tulips (mixed colours) from the Isle of Man, made my day! Just found a site with info on how to keep them looking fresh, apparently you shouldn't overwater them, just 1/3rd vase of clean water and top up with fresh each day. If they bend over wrap them carefully in newspaper leaving bottom 1/3rd of stems uncovered and pop into some clean cold water for a couple of hours until straight again. Hope this works!
Off to listen to some more of the Derek Tangye The Cherry Tree tapes I have out from the library and chill out.
For those of you who are Shirley Goode fans she is out of hospital! :j still got to rest and recuperate but home with her family at last.

Good Afternoon All
Hope we are well
Not had chance to catch up since this morning. I finished work & mum followed me in with her weekly shopping for her cat who's lodging here! Then had to do the school run,
Then my daughter was hit by a flying glass bottle by a boy who shouldn't have been on the school grounds. I reported it to the head, he wasnt there, so left my number, but Im so furious - Ive contacted the Police. Just waiting for the case to be assigned to an officer and they'll be in touch. Luckily there was witnesses.
Thankfully DD is not injured, just very upset! This family is known to the police and the boy is allready suspended from senior school! Lets hope action will be taken, I wont let this drop!
Work was busy as usual, Im just very tired, was hoping for a nap, but too wound up to relax!
dlb hope things went well today! (as well as they can be at funerals)
Not even thought about dinner, might have to be a visit to the chippy!
Off to do the ironing now
Catch you later

 to all those new people that have joined the thread!
 at moggins - you didn't save us some fillet steak and champagne?Go for it!!! You lucky lady!
Last night's supper of meatballs is going to be cooked tonight. DH called me at 6pm last night to say that he was having to work late. I had a very OS meal of fish and chips from the chippy. So, it's lamb meatballs, tomato & basil sauce with rice tonight for supper.
I've got quite a bit of form filling to do tonight. I spent too long surfing t'internet last night, so it's all to do tonight. That's including booking myself in for a school reunion in May. It will be 12 years since I left after my GCSEs. How scary! Our old choir master/head of music is also retiring and they're holding a dinner for him, so we're booking ourselves in for an evening of sipping wine in school. We were never allowed to do THAT in our day. I imagine we'll all feel like naughty school girls as we have our wine in the school's dining room. :rotfl: It also means that we've got to stay over night. I wonder whether they'll let us stay in our old rooms?
It will also be 10 years since I left the school where I did my A-levels. I'm trying to find out whether other peers are going to THAT reunion. Hmmmm..........
I've had a day of supply teaching and I've got half a day tomorrow in a not-so-lovely school in Stamford. I was there this morning and witnessed a Year 2 boy kicking a girl before he rammed another child's head into the fence. Like I say, not-so-lovely! At least the money will keep me going until I get paid in my new job........... I hope.
Just remembered that my council tax is due, so I'll go and pay that online now!
 for now.

Ohhhh nooooo.....  , had a day with DD and DS, both needed new shoes and clothes. Managed to get nice clothes from Debenham's sale but shoes..... Both have very wide feet with high insoles therefore bargains are hard to come by, I am not even going to tell you how much two pairs each cost. I am just going to have a cup of tea and weep silently.
Needless to say, our household will experience some vigorous penny pinching for the next few weeks!
Have a good evening, hugs and warm thoughts to you all.SSB0 -
Hi Guys!
Still not totally packed for holiday in the morning. Leaving at 6am to get round the M25 before its too busy:eek:     Have printed off loads of things for us to do including Newquay Zoo and The Eden Project. Am taking a few bits of food...mainly tinned, biscuits and a few fridge bits but there is a Lidl and Morrisons locally so will go there probably Saturday and just buy enough food for 3 days at a time so none is wasted.
2 loads of washing done and cleaner has been and gone and another brill week from her and her helper. She is coming in next week whilst we are away to do a few odd jobs for me...so that will be a great help. DW will be put on tonight, so we wont come back to a stinky house:D
Cooked a gammon joint in the SC today and having with mash, carrots and sweetcorn. The remains will be used in sarnies for travelling tomorrow. Will sarnies be ok if I make them tonight and keep them in the fridgeAlso going to make a flask of coffee and a drink for DD as we will be travelling for 6hrs+
Anyway, if I dont get on again...have a good week guys and will miss ya.
Hugs
