According to the email i got today, they only release the cash once you have confirmed postage of the item. You can find this in the seller section of your play listings etc.

Thanks for that, I can see the button to click to "confirm despatch" now.
  • Congratulations tsharp :T

I've still only had 2 sales - really slow - not sure what genre sell well on play, probably a different type of buyer to Amazon.

Both my books would be classed as older children's books, one by Jacqueline Wilson, the other 'Midget' by Tim Bowler.

And, guess what??? I've just checked my Play account and I've got a 'sale pending' - and I thought it was just Amazon did that.

Oh, and that is a child's book too.

    FFM :)

Well, since my 'mini moan' last night about only having had 2 sales since joining Play, I've now had another 4 sales on Play, my pending was cancelled though.

Out of a grand total of 6 sales, 3 have been children's books - perhaps Play sells to a younger audience than Amazon.

Anyone else noticing a difference in the type of books that sell on Play compared to Amazon (or Ebay).

After quoting my profit margin earlier in the week in this thread for my first play.com sale, i had it drastically slashed thanks to PO. I swear they have a random price button that is pressed when you post stuff. Paperback book in a jiffy bag, 70p. Paperback book in a jiffy bag, £1.84.

Sounds like one book was thin enough to be classed as a Large Letter, the other must have gone as a Small Packet. :(

Yeah, tbh, one was a comic, so it was much cheaper and thinner, but i am still amazed by the fluctuations in price between paperbacks. In fact, there are 2 POs near me, one does the whole 'does it fit thru the wafer thin slot' routine, the other doesn't, so i might try the less fussy one from now on.

Yeah, they're isbn database must be smaller than Amazon's.
