Will they then take over Plusnet (Good Honest Broadband From Yorkshire) and become EE BA GUM? :D

Pedantic note but plus.net is already fully owned by BT

I guess an American style Class Action law suit would be one solution for such a large Business Decision that cant be tackled on a Case by Case basis through the CISAS....

The call off this Special team is now obviously a distraction and isnt going to help with the cases of people who have real issues and complaints in relation to this. I think they are there to throw in free calls for £14 in case there was a bit of a back lash after Watchdog. But as the case wasn't featured, probably held back on it all.

I was told Orange have already responded to Watchdog and they decided not to feature it.
  • Had a call today and am VERY happy.

They honestly don't give a ratsass.

On advising I have been loyal customer for 16 years mobile and 11 years BB, I was then told that 'there's no loyalty in wanting to leave your contract'!!!

i.e. Orange can't be bothered to even try and keep my custom.

I asked why I was only being offered this one service and why not one of the Customer Service people had been bothered to look at alternatives or other offers togive me some kind of service, even though my decision is tied into my rental situation and I have made that clear from the start.
I don't want their BB either way, but honestly can't take it because of being tied into a new contract and their associated 'get out' fees; the previous rolling plan was what I wanted and needed.

So there's no Customer Service for us and no interest in us even trying to be loyal (albeit forced)!

Strange company policy - let's p-off all our customers and save ourselves a load of work?
    MissB

MissB - you are so so right, what a strange customer policy indeed.

We may all suffer transient inconvenience by Orange's heavy handed attitude, and take umbrage at what is unequivocally a blatant act of mis-selling, however, at the end of the day, we will simply switch provider, and life will continue much as usual - apart from a change of direct debit beneficiary, and compensation pursued via the small claims court.

Personally, I will be pouring a glass of wine (the best vintage 'schadenfreude' if you get my drift) and watching Orange's sacrificial lamb in Anne Robinson's hot set .

Now I understand how they managed to pack out the Coliseum !

For the Kamikaze Orange however, this corporate decision could be the harbinger of their terminal decline. It will be the 'Ratner effect' (MissB's reference to 'ratsasse' reminded me of this !) as I have commented previously.

Who remembers Gerald Ratner in the 1990's proclaiming from the lectern that his 'oh so stupid customers were buying crap jewelry that was worth less than an M&S prawn sandwich' ?

Has anyone seen a Ratners on their High street recently ?
