I am not going to give up until I released from contract as they have mis-sold it.

    Exactly my feelings

I too have received letters telling me that my broadband will stop working if I don't change my line rental to them. What really annoys me is that my broadband is not actual even free, I pay a direct debit to them for £5.11 each month. I have been with them since it was Freeserve, but I shall be looking around for a new supplier.

I am also paying £5.11 a month, but only received the change to EE letter.

Nice to see a bit more 'net noise' about this, more chance of getting a result from publicity than via Ofcom!

I was thinking, if I sell someone something and include a free something, then I take away the free something – and I do this to hundreds/thousands of people – I would expect to be charged with fraud.

Say EE gives their staff a bonus for iphone 5 sales and a member of staff decides to have a new kitchen. Let’s call that staff member Sally Pretend, Sally goes to her local b@z and chats to a salesman, they agree a price on the new kitchen, as part of the deal Sally is given a free cooker hood. The kitchen is fitted - and a couple of weeks later b@z send Sally a letter saying they are removing the cooker hood in 8 weeks time, but as a special favour to Sally Pretend if she buys a new bathroom from them she can keep the cooker hood for free. How will Sally feel about this? Would she get very stressed spending days on b@z’s phone being passed from dept to dept, would she complain to Kitcom, watchdog, post on forums, spending more of her valuable time, or would she go to the police and report it as fraud and blackmail? I don’t think Sally would be very happy at all.

To just refer to this as miss selling does not really fit the bill does it.

I am now wondering why big companies ‘appear’ to get away uncharged by the authorities over matters like this. Why are telecoms ‘policed’ by Ofcom instead of the law of the land being applied?
  • I wouldn't be surprised if special team is code for.. get these jokers off the phone.

Lets face it none of us have stopped calling in relation to this issue, and the only real way we have been subdued so far is with this special team story.

I too have called the exec office at your request fitz2012

The chap I usually speak with is unavailable; spoke to a young lady who will get him to call me back; she gave me another number to call 'a specialist team' that was set up on Thursday 20th.
I suspect this was the original 'Team' when the deluge began! 0800 294 4747
Apparently they have 'multiple offers' available!

However, this cannot be the 'Outbound Team' ( 'The Untouchables' would be more apt) we were informed about on Friday 21st!?

I will not be calling that number as the exec office have been asked to redirect calls there!

As montage says the 'Get these Jokers off the line' team!
  • Just called them too, lol.

Was told that the last update they had was on Friday and that this was that a "Team" had been set up and will call people and discuss offers on a case by case basis.

I wasn't given a number to call and just told they would call me, she took my details again because she couldn't find my details oh her colleagues computer, lol.

Will give them a few days and ring again :-)

I think the delay is due to the Exec team trying to get the A team out of retirement. ;)
  • So who's going to call the number Eva49 got given?
