    Hi All,

So slightly 'off topic ' I know but ....has anyone else received their notice of price increases on line rental ? The second ' in contract ' price increase from our lovely mobile provider !

I feel that this is an unfair price hike, I know it's been said before but how can they do this ? Surely this cannot be allowed without giving customers the option of cancelling their contracts ?

Firkin Orange / EE you really do know how to p@@s customers off don't you !

Rant over - have a good day All......

sky and o2 also offer unlimited bb
  • Having been offered a tempting deal by EE I said I would look around. After comparing the other deals I decided I would take up the offer for the time being as it meant less cost.

However on ringing back CPT performed their usual lacklustre service and could not confirm the details. After then escalating again to the Executive team I finally got back to what had been discussed and was given suitable compensation for my time & effort etc, but I declined to commit at that time to the deal with my concerns on poor levels of assistance etc.

Subsequently I went back to deals available and found that as a BT shareholder I got an even better deal than advertised. Strangely I had to find & order this online as the BT salesperson I spoke to suggested there were no deals for shareholders?! I also finally took the plunge and upgraded to fibre.

I might have added costs compared to what I was paying before, but with the compensation from EE and gift voucher from BT I will be paying a lot less than any provider for the 1st year and still less next year & thats compared with the old low speed.

Transfer to BT has been simple in itself and I now have high speed fibre which means iplayer buffering is a thing of the past and I can watch in high def.

The mobile contract is up shortly. Wonder if I will renew ? They'll certainly have to go the extra mile this time.

    Hi all,

I had previously deleted my previous posts during a period of negotiating with Orange. Although I had reached agreement, it took one month to actually receive the cheque!

Special thanks to Nobby, as I was able to achieve a similar amount of compensation. Without doubt, you set the precedent, to assist in my case (staying with Orange).

Also thanks to Eva, for sharing your experience and the complaints procedure. I achieved final settlement with the Executive Office, after sending a pre action notice.

Although I had previously agreed earlier to switch my BT line and stay with Orange broadband for 12 months, by the material detriment deal (before Orange were offering to continue free broadband), it didn't all happen smoothly!

Orange has always had my direct debit details. However because the amount was always £0.00 as it was free, the bank details apparently go 'dormant'.

This resulted in a penalty charge by Orange because they could not collect money from my bank. I phoned to confirm my details to prevent any further issues. The next month, another penalty charge and disconnection of my broadband!

    Unbelievable !!!

The matter is now resolved, with further phone calls. The penalty charges cancelled and further goodwill credits.

As I had no trust in Orange, because they had neither applied any previously agreed material detriment credits in two months and had now disconnected my broadband, I insisted on one full credit to my bank account of all the credits agreed.

I have never experienced so much aggravation and incompetence from one company!

Now after last years mobile contract increase, Orange have the audacity to do it again, before Ofcom hopefully implement true fixed contracts this autumn, to finally stop this, after their consultation period!

In 6 mths time I am out of contract. One of the positives from this experience is to be better informed from others sharing on this forum. I will be looking to switch to a Virgin blackberry sim only deal, 30 day contract, either £7, £10 or £12 mth.

As for broadband, I do need unlimited and fibre is not yet an option for me (except Virgin). Essentially that probably means deciding between Orange! Talktalk or Plusnet.

Finally, my Orange broadband and Orange phone line (BT!) have been working well with no further issues haha :)

    Welcome back Fitz!
What a nightmare! - finally resolved at least.
I have to say - both Virgin and Plusnet have served me well so far, if that helps.
  • This is an interesting video of evidence of Orange / EE miss selling a phone contract and then making some interesting submissions such as not sending out T&Cs with contracts etc.: youtu.be/BecASN3BV9w[/url]

You will need to add the http// at the front - this site did not allow me to post the link because i am a new user - could someone else do it for me?

    Shocking stuff.

Has anyone else had a problem with the livebox second line. I use it a lot and for the past 10 days it has not worked. I still have the line and a number and a dial tone but every number I dial is engaged. Tried it with landlines and mobiles. Is this the way Orange cancel the service by preventing use and then claiming service is not used.

The 2nd line was discontinued on 27th March, have you not received an email, letter or phone call about transferring your landline to Orange for a combined £20 package?
