Has anyone been a free Orange BB customer since 2004. I took out my free BB deal then, I believe at the begining of the 'free' deals. I was told by an Orange employee that before 2005 I had a different contract and I would be alright....but they have disconected me. While dealing with 2 different managers I asked if I could get a copy of the 2004 aggrement. Having been told they have to keep a copy from each type of contract they have had. I got sent a 2006/2007 one. I have done all the right procedures, my last being getting in touch with CISAS on the 2nd January which said I would here within 5 working days and I have not heard anything else!!!! would love to see a copy of the 2004 aggrement!!
It's worth getting in touch with CISAS again with your reference number even if it means receiving the generic "business decision" reply.
As to the T&C at the time of your contract, I believe they don't exist. Orange also sent me the same they sent to you. But those were created at the end of 2006 if not later. So if you took free BB before 27 Oct 2006, then all the relevant T&C (if any!) were verbally provided at the time of your contract. If somebody thinks differently, please correct me.0 -
I just thought I would mention here that thanks to this thread and the phone number mentioned above I have received an extension to my free broadband until the end of my Orange mobile contract (July 2014).
It was specifically the mention of moneysavingexpert.com that got Orange to change their minds about disconnecting me. You do need to have the right person on the line and the right info. to hand.

A query about the 'free' broadband if I may to MSE members. I am an Orange mobile customer and last year managed to get my 'free' broadband extended until the end of my mobile contract in August of this year. I was emailed this in writing. Unfortunately a few weeks ago my telephone line was 'slammed' or taken over without my permission, by someone moving into another part of the flat. I lost my telephone line and broadband and was powerless to stop them going. This has caused LOTS of hassle but, keeping this brief, Orange have said they won't reconnect my broadband once I get my line restored. There weren't any terms to this effect on the email as I recall, so surely they are acting unlawfully? Also the other thing is (and I am completely not technical), my modem - called a 'speedtouch' appears to be only working with Orange broadband, so it's looking like I'm going to have to purchase a new modem if I go with another company? Thanks for people's help.0

Maybe I should explain further that I don't want to get a landline with Orange as a) my combined deal (line plus broadband) then becomes more expensive, b) they said I would have to be in a 12 mo contract and I am moving out of the property in August0

Hi Emily
I have been trying to work out your situation - you say your telephone line was 'slammed' by someone in another part of the flat - does that mean you live in a shared flat?
Also is the landline in your name? - it sounds like a very difficult situation indeed.
However, if it is in your name and have managed to get it reverted back to the previous supplier - given that Orange have said they will honour the free BB and you have proof of that - then I would have thought Orange were obliged to provide the service - even if you have changed LL provider?
I think you will need to push this with Orange - after all you do have the proof and it is no different really to moving house.
It may also be worth a call to Ofcom to discuss.
Good Luck - please let us know how you get on.0 -
Emily, you appear to be in a bit of a complicated situation.
Eva makes a very good point. When you renewed/took out your mobil contract, orange would have offered you free broadband as part of your mobile contract. This is irrespective of who supplies your landline. If they fail to provide this free broadband, then you were mis-sold your mobile contract and you should complain to ofcom on the grounds of mis-selling. Which ofcom take very seriously.
Once you have an ofcom case number, orange are quite consistant at doing a u-turn and re-instating your BB0 -
Thanks guys. I've been in touch with ofcom who seem more able to help with my landline situation than the BB.
But the point of my post is irrespective of who my landline is with. Orange are telling me that because they no longer offer a BB only service, now that my BB with them is terminated, they are physically unable to reconnect me.
Like you say, this sounds very illegal to me and I can have another go at them. There is nothing in the T+C to say that the 'free BB' extension offer is terminated if there is a problem on the line. I had cheap line rental with Tesco so my overall line + BB was cheaper than anything else I can find now.
Will keep you posted!0 -
Can you shed a little more light on what happend when your line was slammed? I thought this was when and ISP or Landline provider changes you over without your permission ??? Is this right ?0

Hi all, just wanted to say I contacted Orange today and spoke to a very nice lady who, after exclaiming I wasn't at all happy with loosing the free bb especially as I only renewed my phone contract with them for the free bb and considered that their sales person mis-sold me the contract, spoke to her 'manager' and confirmed they would honour the free bb untill the end of my contract! Result.
Thanks all for your posts,I'm sure I would have ended up with nothing if it hadn't been for you guys.:beer:0
