@The Dave ... were you only looking for a one-off £12 discount, or per month for the remaining term of contract? (The email reads to me as they are giving you a one-off discount).

I see what you're saying, I explained to my contact I need to offset the cost for the remainder of my contract (ends Jan 14) to which he said he'd work on it and call me back.

But instead I got that message, actually signed by him (including his surname), so I am assuming it's for the length of my contract.

I will double check it as bills come in and give them a good moan, as initially I was entitled to friends and family discount too when I renewed this contract... but they said I can either have broadband for the term, or friends and family. Luckily I found emails to them explaining I wanted both, but them agreeing to the broadband for free for the term if I chose that.

So that will also stand me in good stead if it's a one off lol, fingers crossed it's not :)
  • My main concern is that as they are withdrawing free broadband half way through my mobile contract. How long before all the people who sign up to there free broadband phone line rental offer suddenly find that orange change the rules again and start charging for broadband when your tied to their line rental?

I've been with orange for over 7 years. Having only just renewing my mobile contract back in April have now received numerous phone calls from them trying to sell me the home phone line deal. I've tried to complain to them about my free broadband deal ending, but they are just not interested. I know I'm now going to be stuck in my mobile contract till July 2014. But come that day orange, oh sorry EE, will have lost a long time customer!

Just follow EVA"s list, ofcom first get ref number, then exec, office with it, take no crap tell them what you think of them. you will get it till the end of your contract.

As i posted earlier on the forum, i had mybroadband reinstated till the end of my mobile contract.(i have the email 11th of november).
Well this morning i have got a letter from orange telling me, To keep your free home broadband, please call us.
Then it goes on to try and tell me to move my line rental to orange to be able to keep the free broadband.
YES WHEN PIGS CAN FLY ORANGE/EE.
I would rather they cut me off so i can end my mobile contract with them, they are so clueless one hand dont know what the other is doing.
    Another happy Orange/EE customer.

Not at all :) that's what it is there for - thank you
  • Thought I had ended my phonecalls to orange, but alas no. Just to warn/inform people that having thought i had sorted the original cut off date on 7th November, went through the saga, and received the email saying would continue free BB until end of my contratc with my mobile.
Today I had a letter saying 'please act now as your free BB is to be cut off on the 11th December. Phoned them up and all a 'misunderstanding'.

I expect a new letter a month informing me of a new cut off date until Marcg 2014. I may have to put orange CS on my christmas card list I feel that I know them that well:)

Don't worry, you'll be fine. Come Monday, start contacting Ofcom as on the Eva's list. And please sign the RobbedRobbins' petition to prevent more people like yourself getting in this situation.

After receiving an email on 8th Oct that my T&C would change to EE, I thought they might have sneekily increased the price, I have just checked my account and the usual £5.11 direct debit has been taken.

Although on my broadband account, you now only have the option to upgrade with a converge of broadband, landline and mobile.

So it likes like if you don't have a mobile contract with them as well as a landline they don't want your business. Talk about keeping all your eggs in one basket.
