I've just been on the phone to Orange Broadband trying to sort this out for our home. I asked why the website said £13.50pm but they were quoting £14.00pm, bloke said it was "new customers only", I said I wanted a price match. Bloke then talks to manager and comes back saying the website needs updating, I said that was false advertising. Bloke then says we get the 11.50pm discount for 3 months which is bigger discount.
Will be keeping a close eye on Orange website to see if it remains at £13.50pm.Eco-Climber wrote: »Orange are offering upto £100 to drop the insistence of sticking to the Free Broadband for Life. The £100 is to cover termination fees from your existing landline provider. NUTS TO THAT. I've got a contract & sticking to it.
But they still are technically giving free broadband, its just that you must have their landline rental too.0 -

I would dispute that it is 'free'
New customers with mobile contract get half price BB = £5
LL rental to include eve & weekend calls = £13.50 + £5 BB + £18.50
Offer to customers with 'free BB' = £14.00 LL & BB and does not include calls
If you want to include eve & weekend calls + £4.50 = £18.50
Same price as any other customer
Unless you can negotiate0 -
Has anyone who does not have a mobile contract with Orange been offered a deal without being charged the extra £5 a month for not being an Orange customer?SO... now England its the Scots turn to say dont leave the UK, stay in Europe with us in the UK, dont let the tories fool you like they did us with empty lies... You will be leaving the UK aswell as Europe0

The £14 FREE broadband deal is poor value in my opinion moreso for alot of Livebox customers - even the top £28 package reduced to £20 for 12 months - Orange are replacing 100 countries for 30 countries, yes you gain mobile calls, but is that not why you have a mobile contract ?
Line rental & broadband £14 x 18 = £252
NEW CUSTOMERS:
Line, broadband, off peak calls £18.50 x 12 = £222
Line, broadband, anytime calls £23.50 x 12 = £282
I would be telling Orange as customers 8.50 discount on top package at £20, and they buy you out of any line rental contract....that is the new terms you agree to outwith legal action.
Terms & Conditions can be set by both parties. £20 a month is better in Orange bank account than providing FREE broadband, you get anytime calls, 1000 mobile minutes, those on Livebox 100 countries need to ask that bundle be applied to the landline deal over the 30 countries currently on offer, no deal means you seek legal redress, Orange will take a cut on loss over providing FREE broadband.
The wholesale price minutes via France Telecom compared to per GB to BT is the difference between a profit & loss.
100 Countries/price list: http://www.filedropper.com/o100countries
France still has 100 countries, Orange UK no doubt tried to stop the financial bleeding

Just pulled the trigger and jumped to plus net. :j It was kind of inevitable as I've set up so many people in my family with them that the original person gets a a good few pounds off their bill now!
I never needed them as I had the free Orange service (although about 6 years ago during the troubled times I almost jumped), but they have been so hassle free that it feels risk free and reasonably priced.
If they'd have waited to kick us off until 4G was out and they could provide superfast then I may have stayed, but as my Mobile is with them in 12 months I guess I can see if they want to fight for my business again with some kind of combo deal.
Cheers for all the insight and help from this big thread. :money:

The £14 'free' broadband offer is an 18 mth contract, offered to those customers who have existing free broadband. It is line rental only (includes no evening and weekend calls) and 'free broadband'. Apparently you cannot add call bundles to it.
That's not the conversation I just had today0 -
