Orange 'Free' Broadband

I never signed a contract either, I was inherited from freeserve/wanadoo as well.
There are a couple of 'fights' for justice going on here - those that are saying 'free broadband for life' and sticking to that and those like me who ask at every upgrade will the free BB continue for the life of that upgrade.
I also think that those who asked if their recent upgrade would have free BB for the life of the upgrade have a verbal contract that was miss sold -
I too was a legacy package from wanadoo when orange took them over.
Previously paying 17.99 a month for BB
PAYG 15 a month mobile phone.
They offered me free BB if I took a mobile contract for £30 per month which I did.
It was on renewing 18months later, THEY told me I still got my free BB........initially pleasantly surprised I said 'really?'......to which the reply came YES it is for LIFE as long as you have a mobile contract with Orange.
I did subsequently check at every renewal too.
So there it is............or should I say WAS?0 -

Yes, I have requested tapes, and been told that they are unlikely to be kept dating back to (in my case) Feb 2011. Was waitin for a callback to confirm, but guess what - it never came!
Are you able to confirm the advice re the court papers, to ensure that we all send them to the correct place?
Cheers

On the subject of you guys getting copies of the recordings, I'm pretty sure the data protection act states that you can request a copy of all documentation a company holds on you. I think it covers recorded phone calls, and emails. It would certainly cover a copy of your original mobile contracts.
If anything it might be worth doing because its a right royal PITA for the company to do, and they can only charge you a nominal fee for it.0 -
In the beginning I requested the address to send a summons. Not an easy phone conversation - no one in Orange seems to know!
The address I was given was, Orange Customer Care, Orange UK PLC, PO Box 486, Rotherham, S63 5ZX. However this is shown as their broadband address.
Their mobile address is shown as, Orange Customer Services, Po Box 10, Patchway, Bristol, BS32 4BQ.

I would recommend checking carefully, and more than once! Ring Executive Office, Customer Services (mobile) and see what address they give. It is very important.
My thinking, is that for breach of contract for a mis-sold mobile phone, you need to send a summons to the mobile office, if that is the correct address as shown.
I was instructed NOT to send to a PO Box address
Which is why she took so long in finding it.......but then called me back0 -
All legal notices must be sent to the registered office, available on companieshouse websiteSO... now England its the Scots turn to say dont leave the UK, stay in Europe with us in the UK, dont let the tories fool you like they did us with empty lies... You will be leaving the UK aswell as Europe0

Incredible that Orange Complaints do not know, where customers should send a summons, considering that is the end of the process, if no resolution achieved.
There is no clear information and like most phone calls to Orange, another difficult conversation.
Their registered company address may well be the correct address!
While I remember, ring orange retention team after 9 months and u may
get another deal.0 -

Select find company information then put the number in and hit search0 -
I am careful and reasonable by nature, so having slept on this some more and having given even more due consideration to the 'material detriment' element of BB withdrawal, I came to the following conclusion.
Orange are only prepared to address the 'material detriment' element and make up additional expenses incurred on the basis you hand you land line rental to them.
It would appear,if you are not prepared to do this, all negotiations cease and your BB will be cut off.
I have asked myself is that fair?............should I be required to enter into another contract with Orange in order they 'honour' my initial contract ............would that be deemed reasonable by a neutral body?
No matter which way I look at this I come to the same conclusion........0
