Well I'm no longer an Orange broadband Customer :) I took this as a chance to leave and now I'm on a Plusnet Fibre extra with a download speed of 76Mb and an upload of 17Mb so don't there pants broadband back even if they want to give it to me free, lol.

All i want now is a phone call from Orange (and someone from Orange with actual power) to end my mobile contract.

I very doubt anybody will be getting a mobile cancellation as they wont even discuss the matter. Without this your only option is to take them to small claims. You'd of been better to hear them out first, and if you still felt what they had to offer would of still been material detrimental to yourselves this may have been offered afterwards.

Lets face it those who have left all they have to say to you is we'll match any offer you was getting, but as you have left can't now. Goodbye.

I said before my hand will not be forced. Also i was told yesterday broadband cut off dates have been postponed indefinitely.

Just a note - i have not seen anyone here holding out for mega compensation - all i have seen is people trying in vain to fight for justice.

To go from 8mb to 15mb is remarkable, its like you've gone from standard adsl to adsl2 just by changing your router.

Lots of talk of taking Orange to court and getting free iPhones for all the hassle caused etc. Oh, and I assume that was meant to be a dig. Thanks.

That is true and maybe I won't get out of my contract but I'll give it a bloody good go :)
  • Just emailed orange this out of pure frustration:

    Hello,

I have not had any response from any department regarding my complaint.

Therefore i will take your lack of correspondence as agreement to my my requests below of either continuation of the free broadband for the duration of my mobile contract or penalty free cancellation of my mobile contract.

I will take the penalty free cancellation of my mobile contract as you have changed the terms of this contract.

Therefore i will cancell the direct debit for this contract at my earliest convenience.

Again i will take any lack of response within the next 5 days as acceptance of these terms.

    Thank You.

Ps. If you choose to forward this mail to another department then please copy me on the circulation.

It must be terrible at the moment working in the Executives Office taking all this amount of flack and having absolutely no support from Higher up in the Company. Being forced to fob off Customer for the last month with the same old drone, and being moaned at all day.

If i was working for a company who is willing to vary throw terms & conditions in people faces so much i'd be worrying about my employment terms and conditions also!

:T:T:T Like your style! My downgrade occurs tomorrow, then the wifes on the 7th...buy out and court summons on the 8th it'll be then :) Bit delayed from my intention of launching the case this week, but thought it sensible to take every effort to reduce buyout costs. Will keep you all posted.

I have been in touch with CAB re mis-sold contract, they in turn reported my complaint to Trading Standards, as it is not possible to contact trading standards direct.

My local Trading Standards Office telephoned me this afternoon to discuss the situation.

It was an interesting conversation regarding legal action.

I am told miss-selling is a criminal offence, which is dealt with as a criminal case and not for civil action.

Civil action has to be brought on the grounds of misrepresentation and breach of contract.

She also suggested requesting tapes of the conversations when renewing contracts, I believe others have requested these already and drawn a blank?........I haven't personally though.

I also mentioned the difficulties in getting any dialogue from Orange having requested where to serve Court papers and which company to serve them on!

I had searched and found it all too unclear

She agreed and was totally unimpressed! Eventually she had to ring off and call me back while she searched and eventually found them.

    Good point Eva.

Yes, I have requested tapes, and been told that they are unlikely to be kept dating back to (in my case) Feb 2011. Was waitin for a callback to confirm, but guess what - it never came!

Are you able to confirm the advice re the court papers, to ensure that we all send them to the correct place?

    Cheers
