In law "free" things in a contract as agreed are there for the minimum term agreed.

  • I got my MAC code in four days...
  • Hey everyone, need advise please...
My husband had the free broadband and as a consequence of them starting to charge we have joined up with Talk Talk for our broadband, I asked him to call Orange and get the MAC code and they are insisting that they will send it but charge him a £25 disconnection fee?? We are not leaving the mobile contract, only requesting to change the broadband supplier, can they do this??

LOL sounds like something Orange would do, but to the best of my knowledge no they cannot charge you £25 unless at some point you signed a contract for something? Do you have any other services with them or just mobile and up to now free bb?

When i called for my MAC it was one of the quickest calls i've had with them and 4 days later i got my MAC.

  • Thanks Vdubster, no we just have a mobile contract and free bb so I thought it was them trying to pull a fast one.
I'm going to get my husband to stand strong and call them again insisting it's wiped!

So all quiet ..... anyone had a call from secret squirrels ?

I was promised a call from them Saturday 29th, sent an email to exec team last Friday who confirmed I should have been one of first to be contacted but I was definately on list.

I pointed out that I made my complaint on 21st August and it was already over 5 weeks then ( 6 tomorrow ) so they better pull their fingers out.

    Still no call .....

    No call here either.

But i'm due to move broadband trw so these "Broadband Sales people" will be wasting my time if they do call. I want someone with the power to agree to cancelling my mobile contract, hint hint Orange, lol

Had a call last week, nothing of note, not authorised to discuss mobile contracts, just trying to push the landline rental; matched my current BT line rental + evening and weekend calls + BB, supposed to be calling me today re my decision.
All in all, I believe, an outsourced sales team based in Scotland.
