purchase made but now reduced

i bought a biycle from a shop 1-8-12 for £1260 and now it is reduced to £999 in a sale just 18 days after buying it
do i have a right to complain and claim this saving back from the shop?
i feel they should have told me about this upcoming sale
is there a cooling off period with purchases or a time were new offers become valid in retrospect?
thanks

Of course you have a right to complain.
Wether you have any merit to your complaint I'll leave to tender here.
(btw, prepare for a bashing)
Legally no shop has to give a refund of price difference, unless they included it in part of any additional T&C of purchase.0 -
Yawn ...not this one again.
No you have no right to having the difference back from the shop just as you woud tell the shop where to get off if the price had risen.
why would they tell you of the upcoming sale? They're a business not a charity.2014 Target;
To overpay CC by £1,000.
Overpayment to date : £310
2nd Purse Challenge:
£15.88 saved to date0 -
i just think for something to have been reduced by £400 in a matter of less than 3 weeks should give me the right to that discount as they must have known they had a sale upcoming and i wasnt told0

You chose to purchase the bike at the price you paid. the shop has no legal obligation to inform you of an upcoming sale or of any potential future saving. You have no cooling off period. You are not entitled to claim any saving back from the shop.
I presume that because you bought an expensive bike, you are a keen cyclist. Enjoy your bike and move on.0 -
You can return the one you bought, could not you? and buy again...What is their return policy?0

Well it depends if the shop knew of the forthcoming sale, they may have only had a few days notice of it.0 -
by the way the reason i said reduced by £400 was because i negotiated a 10% discount already and gout it for £1260 instead of £1400.0

Based on your theory, where should they draw the line - three weeks, a month, three months?0 -
On yer bike, well someone had to say it.
This is a frequent question and I'm sure we all have ended up buying something then seen it reduced just a few weeks later.
We pay for non essential items in particular, because we want them and are statisfied to pay the price they are on sale for. A laptop I puchased for £679, was down at £549 within a month on a special offer. But I was happy even though I had paid £679 as it was still a good price
Unless their returns policy, has something like a 30 days money back no quibble guarantee or prehaps a 10% restocking change, then I guess you will be out of luck.0
