just type Furniture village into the search.
There are sixty four posts that mention "furniture village", and that's just on the Consumer Rights board.
As requested, please provide a link, or links to the pertinent posts. Thanks.
Ah... just read this thread.
This can't be the one you mean because no sum is mentioned, but it is interesting that even in 2010 you were refusing to substantiate your wild claims. I refer to post#9 onwards... in particular posts #18 and #19.0 -
He's referring to this thread:
https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/2274725
Although I find it laughable he's claiming to be responsible for saving £10,000's as I was part of that thread, and I was part of those who got my money back, but it was due to the OP's post, NOT those made by Malchish.
In fact, looking at the postings in the thread, I supported plenty of people in there and had plenty of PM's about it too.
So, Whats YOUR point?0 -
In the posts you refer to Weald, I like the way that providing proof of their claim is dismissed by stating:
Who are you to see the particulars of the claim? What if you are FV themselves?
but as:I claimed against them successfully, got a full refund and learnt a lot about their business.
So there was a successful claim against Furniture village but malchish won't show proof of this in case the person asking was working for Furniture village.
Surely if FV defended and then lost the claim, they would have had the particulars anyway.
Give malchish some credit.
At least he's been consistent with the way he posts over the years. (making claims/statements and consistantly failing to back them up when asked).0 -

When I see people ganging up on forums it then leads me to believe that it's become very clique
MSE provides us with the option of being able to ignore members posts and personaly I would use that option rather than play one upmanship games.I think the surest sign that intelligent life exists elsewhere in the universe is that none of it has tried to contact us.0 -

Or it means that the person who you feel is being ganged up on, constantly posts false and misleading information (information which if read by the wrong people could lead to them losing money), and despite being asked to show proof of what they claim, consistently fail to do so.
Yes, these posts could be ignored, but as already mentioned, this could well mean that new members read and believe that everything posted is 100% correct.
As there is a "Thanks" button, an equivilent one to indicate that you feel the post is of no use whatsoever may well go a long way to alleviate the need for "ganging up" as people looking for advice would be able to see the general opinion of a post and if there are plenty of "no thanks" or "no help" markings, they may then decide not to take notice of that post.0 -

This is exactly why 'Ignore' is no use on this specific board, because people come here looking for answers which can and should be backed up with documented proof.0 -
Demanding proof is not the answer. If you believe that somebody has posted wrong information then you should provide evidence to the contrary.
That will be far more beneficial to members who are seeking the correct answers.I think the surest sign that intelligent life exists elsewhere in the universe is that none of it has tried to contact us.0 -
If you believe that somebody has posted wrong information then you should provide evidence to the contrary.
Which has been done time and time again, yet the poster in question refuses to believe what is posted (more often than not it is direct cut and pastes from the SOGA).
Other times it is not a case of proving proof to the contrary as this can't always be done, instead, simply asking someone to confirm what they posted may be the only way to proceed.
Suppose I was to claim that I once took a retailer to court because their sales assistant was rude to me and I was awarded £5,000 compensation, and I then went on to advise other people to do the same.
Would you honestly believe this to be true? and if you didn't, how could you possibly disprove my claim?
If someone was advising people to risk their money in what I thought was a foolhardy venture, I would certainly expect that person to provide more than the writings of a totally anonymous poster.0 -

Thank you. There is definitely a clique, and by now I know exactly what posters are in this (unless it is the same person with several personas) . they have loads of posts, as if it is their job, and, if you look at their posts, they either discourage consumers from claiming by saying " this won't get anywhere", or post meaningless aggression, or just "post for quantity".
It is very clear that asking a poster to provide a particular details with dates etc. will disclose the name and the personal details. I definitely do not want my private info to be known by those trolls, and I would advise nobody to post anything on the internet that could identify them and their address.
So the clique wants these details, and when a poster, of course, declines, they attack by claiming that all info is tosh, despite providing no evidence that the info is incorrect.
The forum is not moderated, on another forum those people would have been long banned for stirring drama. I post not for them, but for people who need my info as help. my info is all factual and I will be willing to provide proofs and support to every genuine person who would provide me with their name, verifyable address and contact details (I would not advise anyone to give this over the interent though). No such info for trolls, of course.
That's all fine, by their attacks they only bump my info to the top.
The Furniture Village settled with all the claimants (of which we were the first who cracked them) well before court, because going to court would be suicidal for them - deliberate misdescription may be considered a criminal offense.
People got their money back, because we discovered, proved the scam and involved Trading Standards to take action.
None of the clique, despite their thousands of posts, have anything like that to show. Because their job is to scare people from exercising their rights, and to discredit proper informative important posts and posters.
People will see themselves where the truth is, so, if the information is on the
internet , it won't be hidden any more.0
