    Yes it was.

When I had it done before I got undressed behind a screen and was given a modesty blanket.

This time I had to get undressed in front of the woman so there was no privacy.

I know what you mean about getting used to these things. I used to be awful with things like this. Whilst I'm still uncomfortable with eveything I'm no where near as anxious as I used to be.

Ah I didn't really have to undress I just pulled my leggings & pants off whilst I was lying down but then it was a suprise I had to have one. If I go for a smear I wear a dress with leggings so I'm never really uncovered!

Ooh, I got an OPK like that yesterday but thought it wasn't dark enough...

Will have to see what today's looks like. I only do one a day, should I be doing two?

I'm going to update the Valentine list in a mo - anyone want to be added?

I'll POAS now and then come back with news of my lines...

    Photos!!

Teacake that makes sense if you have pcos. I would keep bding incase you haven't ovulated & if it turns out you haven't and ot happens in a few days or something order lower sensitivity opks for next time (although hopefully there won't be one!).

Birdie - As it happens, we do allow volunteers onto the ward to cuddle babies. They have to be CRB checked and properly supervised, but they're great for when Mums have been in for a couple of days, are poorly or just really tired and they just need a little break but there's nothing physically wrong with the baby. At the moment we don't have any though as our last volunteer has now got a full time job with us :) There have been a few babies that I genuinely wanted to pop in my bag and bring home :rotfl:

Oh my God, I need to contact my local hospital to see if they accept baby cuddle volunteers! :D My favourite thing in life is giving a teeny tiny person a cuddle, I don't get to do it a fraction as much as I'd like to! :o

I'm totally over embarrassment around all things foof-related. Still don't like getting it out, but after 4 smears, 1 internal examination and an internal scan I really don't care any more. It's always a bit awkward when the nurse starts chatting to me during it though! :p

Hugs Amy for losing one of your ladies. :( I couldn't be a carer or nurse etc as I'd get too attached. :o

Good luck getting some help with the weightloss Mrs T_M. :)

I was just thinking about QQ this morning and thinking how much I miss having a Thread Mummy, she was always so wise and diplomatic! :)

Warning: Rant at the US government

Well, seems that I cannot file my US taxes online because DH doesn't have, isn't eligible for, and doesn't want a flipping social security number. Filing taxes in the States is nothing more than a headache! I just want to go curl up into a ball and cry. I'm smart enough that I should be able to figure out what to do with these taxes, but right now I just feel like I'm worthless and stupid over them. I know it will pass, but it upsets me!

For me it's the unknown. Had a few smear tests now and internal exams so that is fine, not that I like it. But the first repository or what ever you call what goes up the other end and the first catheter were horrendous. Might be ok now as I've had it now before. Don't know why men make such a big deal about their exams, it's all on the outside (well apart from the prostate I guess)

Is there a secret to replying to the thread a la amyloofoo?! I start writing and forget what I wanted to say halfway through! That was an epic post! Hoping that once I get the hang of things, I'll be replying to people a bit more.

With internals etc, I also used to really dread them. Was so embarrassed about it once that I didn't have my first smear til I was 28. But since the borderline tumour, I have a consultant's hand shoved up there for a rummage around every 6 months and what I loving call dildocam every 6 months, so something at least every 3 months. Actually have to remember to NOT remove my trousers and bare my bits when going to the docs about something else, it's almost automatic!

Mrs TM - good luck with the weight loss. Think going to your doctor is a good idea as they can provide all sorts of support. Hope you feel better about things soon.

CD 6 here and AF is just about finished. I usually ovulate around CD11/12 so shall see what this month holds. We're not going to be actively trying in March, just going with the flow and getting used to the idea. Can I guess 8 BFPs for February please? One other thing - what supplements do your other halves take? Just bog standard multivitamins or the super duper (expensive!) Wellman type ones?

I have to say an transvaginal ultrasound / dildocam complete with condom and lube is an experience most will not forget in a hurry!

LOL too true Angi! Was a bit like this >> when it was brought out! The nurse was so kind as to apologise that the lube wouldn't be warm, that was the least of my worries! :rotfl:

When I had it, my DH was with me (was for an early scan in my first pregnancy) and we were trying not to giggle as the sonographer was fiddling about up there! I don't know what was worse, the experience itself or the trying not to giggle part!
Maybe I'll leave him at home for the next one!
