Amy - I'm LOVING your post
Had my ultrasound this morning. Just my luck that there was a trainee. Felt a bit mean making her leave the room but no way I'm getting my fanny out in front of two women
I now just need a period. I've never wanted a period so much lol. The sooner I bleed, the sooner I can have my blood tests and the sooner I can get referred to the fertility clinic. And then hopefully I'll finally get some of this elusive clomid0 -
Was it an internal ultrasound you had fannyanna?
Its funny a couple of years back I was embarassed just to get a smear test done, actually put it off for a whole year because of that.
Then since my scan where they had to do an have an internal scan, and then having an erpc I feel like I have totally gotten over that! Although for a minute in the hospital I thought the surgeon coming round was going to be a man and I wasnt happy about that, luckily they turned out to be a woman!0 -
Hi all! Have just caught up with the past weeks posts, had a tough end to last week at work - I'm a home carer and one of my morning ladies passed away, I've not been doing it long and found it really tough. We get told not to get attached but it's impossible not to.
Can I just say a huge congrats to all the BFP omg it's been an amazing start to the year.
Have been using OPK's for the 1st time this month and I think I'm 1DPO and CD14
Fingers crossed this month is going to be as good as the last. I think I'm going to guess 8 BFP again this month pleaseGot married 12/10/12 in Gretna Green:j

Yes it was.
When I had it done before I got undressed behind a screen and was given a modesty blanket.
This time I had to get undressed in front of the woman so there was no privacy.
I know what you mean about getting used to these things. I used to be awful with things like this. Whilst I'm still uncomfortable with eveything I'm no where near as anxious as I used to be.0 -
when I went to get a diaphragm fitted the nurse had her entire hand up there trying to find my cervix. Then she made me put my hand up to feel the correct location. It's just as well I'm not squeamish about it cause that would have been pretty bad. And after that, nothing seems embarrassing :rotfl:
I *think* I may be oving today. Bbs are sore, cervix is so high I can barely reach it, ewcm is plentiful and I am really grumpy and !!!!!y. And today is the day that everything is going wrong and I'm trying to find the solution. Oh and I have like a stitchy pain on my left side like someone has kicked me and then I was running. Does that sound like ov pain? Trying not to stress in case it scares my egg and it doesn't come out. What I really want to do is curl into a ball and sob.Eu não sou uma tartaruga. Eu sou um codigopombo.0 -
I think I wore myself out yesterday with that post, although I'm very sorry I missed you out T2D... I was very tempted to edit it and put in a little message to you, but then I thought that would make me look even more like a crazy lady! :rotfl: So here you are, your very own epic post mention:
T2D - I've seen that conversation happen a couple of times now too, and it's always a bit uncomfortable when it doesI can understand the excitement of getting a BFP and wanting to tell everyone about it, but surely a little common sense would tell you that this probably isn't the appropriate place if we've never heard from you before?
I'm so glad you're feeling positive about the journey... It may not happen in the way you'd originally planned, but I'm absolutely certain that you're going to be a (fabulous) Mummy. I've been stalking your blog a little bitand will have everything crossed for you on Monday - I know reassuring internet strangers is not going to be high on your list of priorities, but please let us know you're okay as soon as you're able to.
You don't sound like a crazy lady, you sound like someone who's had a hideously tough time of it and is trying to see the positive (no pun, I assure you) in the situation. Try not to torture yourself with the 'what ifs' (sorry about sounding trite), but concentrate on getting well :grouphug:
P.S. I had a totally inappropriate chuckle at the mental image of Wall-E doing your op, and sexy surgical stockings
Amy85 - Bless you, it's horrible when someone you've cared for has passed :grouphug: I know it's tough now, and people tell you that you shouldn't get attached... but it's that empathy that makes you a good carer IMHO. I agree that it's been an awesome start to 2013 for BFPs on this thread, and hope the OPKs help you to finding your BFP soon.
Firefly - I love the idea of ladies queuing to POAS in Tink's bathroom... although if you keep posting pics of cakes Tink then I will definitely be one of them! I think you should join both Valentine's lists, I'll keep my fingers crossed for you.
TACOD - I agree with you about the OPKs, although I am by no means an expert. All I can say is, if in doubt, BD!
Team Lowe - I have cantankerous babies to deal with at work! I hope the PMA works for you, and I love the idea of 'knowing' that its a forever babyI'm keeping my fingers crossed for you and love the idea of tempting fate - hopefully you and your cousin will soon have something else in common
Birdie - As it happens, we do allow volunteers onto the ward to cuddle babies. They have to be CRB checked and properly supervised, but they're great for when Mums have been in for a couple of days, are poorly or just really tired and they just need a little break but there's nothing physically wrong with the baby. At the moment we don't have any though as our last volunteer has now got a full time job with usThere have been a few babies that I genuinely wanted to pop in my bag and bring home :rotfl:
Tink - I am soooo ready for that extra cake! DH and workmates have been telling me I look too skinny after getting that bug, so I think I'm allowedI hope you have a good time with your friends and DD, they are very lucky to have such a talented friend who can make curtains and cake, I love the idea of you joining the WI :T
Code - Maybe just tell them you're not feeling 100% but will drag yourself out for one or two drinks... that way you get to leave early, have their sympathy and look like a bit of a trooperI hope your OH appreciates the effort you go to!
Claire - I'm not a nurse or a midwife (although am considering going back to uni when I've finished my OU course so this may change). MSWs support new mums and babies by doing clinical observations, reassuring first time parents with bath demos, nappy changes, breastfeeding, expressing, etc and generally assisting with the transition from being pregnant to being a new parent. We basically do the job of healthcare assistants, but have additional training in breastfeeding, caring for newborns, obstetric emergencies and responding to a seriously unwell baby. It's a lovely job, even if it can sometimes be very hard work
Fannyanna - Did they tell you anything after the scan or is it a case of waiting for a doctor's appointment? I hope all goes well and AF arrives soon... although of course I also hope that the FS referral turns out to not be necessary :grouphug:
QQ - If you're lurking, we miss you and hope you're doing okay - you're always welcome here :grouphug:0 -

She said that there were cysts but as PCOS is a hormone problem the scan results need to be looked at in conjunction with the blood test results.QQ - If you're lurking, we miss you and hope you're doing okay - you're always welcome here :grouphug:
I second this. I was thinking about QQ the other day and hoping she's well. It's funny how you can miss someone that you don't actually know lol.0 -
Amyloo - you've really made me wish that our hospital was closer (it's 5 1/2 miles from where we live) so that I could go cuddle the babies on a regular basis. I think that getting out of the house and getting to cuddle a little one occasionally would really help. Maybe once the weather warms and I work up to going that far in a day on a bike I'll be able to do it.
Had a temp spike this morning, so I'm probably 1dpo, but I won't 'declare' it until ff puts the crosshairs on my chart. I really hope that things work out here this month. The thought of going back to ntnp has really gotten me down. Much more so than it probably should have.
I also really need to make an appointment with the GP about getting help with my weight. The last time that I was a 'healthy' weight for my height I was 12. I stopped growing up (I'm 5'3") and started growing out at that point. I often despise the fact that eating is the one addiction that someone cannot quit cold turkey. We must eat to survive, which makes addiction to food and being overweight that much more difficult to break.
Sorry, I probably need to go for a while before I bring the thread down again.0 -
Thanks for all the advice on my OPKs/ chart. DUO got back to me and said this:
"Women do have different levels of LH so the fact you do not get a line as dark as the control is not necessarily an issue.... Day 16 does look to be the strongest result, we would expect ovulation to occur shortly if it has not already happened. "
Thought it might be useful for those women like me who don't seem to get a true positive... doesn't explain my crappy temps though... Mind you- last months temps were all over the shop- bloody PCOS.
Hugs Mrs T M this journey really takes its toll on us all. We're here for you however you feel though!0 -
Ooh, I got an OPK like that yesterday but thought it wasn't dark enough...
Will have to see what today's looks like. I only do one a day, should I be doing two?
I'm going to update the Valentine list in a mo - anyone want to be added?
I'll POAS now and then come back with news of my lines...:cool: DFW Nerd Club member 023...DFD 9.2.2007 :cool::heartpuls married 21 6 08 :A Angel babies' birth dates 3.10.08 * 4.3.11 * 11.11.11 * 17.3.12 * 2.7.12 :heart2: My live baby's birth date 22 7 09 :heart2: I'm due another baby at the end of July 2014! :j
