Ah I see. So maybe you are ovulating now then if you've had a positive opk.

It depends on what's in it obviously but a certain brand of sleeping tablets in the USA is actually prescribed for helping with morning sickness. Try not to worry its early days so I don't think anything you've done would have an effect.

I just feel so stupid that I thought I was not pregnant, so didn't take care of myself. Kicking myself now. It was a benzodiazepine - I've read on the net that they are dangerous in pregnancy but that's probably when it's a proper foetus. Apparantly anything they are exposed to in the first two weeks after conception has an all or nothing effect - either kills the embryo straight away or if it makes it then it doesn't affect it at a later stage. Well I'm still pg so let's hope the latter.

Learn from my mistake girls - it's never over until AF has truly arrived!

Eek eek, 2 x TLPs this morning. Now doubting myself n thinking they might be evaps. Am 11 dpo which is when I got my TLP last time. It doesn't show up as well on a pic in real life and hubby is at work so noone to confirm if I am bonkers or not.. Will do another test tomorrow and a digi if there is still a line.

My god, lets hope the january BFP machine is still rolling! Abis I think the digis are not as sensitive, don't think u can use them until first day of missed period - good luck.
  • Morning All,

Abis - !!!!!:jKeeping my fingers crossed. By the way if you are pregnant you are still contracted to stick around for a little while and wag your finger at those of us still trying to lose weight and get healthy...no skipping off to the pregnancy thread and forgetting to poke us with a sharp stick.

Tinks - Hope you are feeling a little better today. Are you still seeing a counseller (sp?)
You hearts are lovely. I like the pink ones the best:D

afm. *rant* I officially want a new body. I have had it with this one, its defective and I want my money back. Today at cd13 I got a temp spike that has gone above my usual coverline so I think I have ov'd (or am getting sick). The thing is I have NEVER ov'd anywhere near this early in my cycle before so we haven't been doing it as often as usually we have to save our energy for the long 'fertile period' between cds 21 and 34!!!!!:mad::mad::mad:.
If my temp stays raised over the next two days then I can only assume that AC, stopping caffiene and losing some weight has made me ov early. If it stays like that it will be a good thing as I will get more tries in a year.....or it could all be for nothing and my temp will go back down tomorrow...aaaahhhhh! Why can my body run on a schedule:silenced:

I think it'd be better for women in general if we could book to see gynaes like we book GPs rather than have to get referred through a hospital. We should see a gynae to get the pill in the first place as they're much more likely to pick up on PCOS symptoms etc and they know what they're talking about. But then, that'll be more expensive so if it's going to save money in general what's the harm in screwing up a *few* women's bodies by failing to identify issues before they find out they're going to struggle conceiving?!

I don't think folk should be able to book consultations with specialists. Think of the complaints people go to GP's with...cold's, cough's, a grazed knee. There needs to be a 'buffer' in place so that all the duff complaints can be filtered out and that appointments with specialists can go to those who actually need them.

What we need is better educated GP's, particularly when it comes to gynae or reproductive issues.

For all 'women' issues and contraceptive advice etc I have always gone to the Well Womens clinic at out local hospital. All the staff at our local one are women and are all very knowledgable on everything female. When they removed my implant they gave me great preconception advice. They are staffed by both nurses and doctors and I have always found it easy to get an appointment with either. So if you have a daughter you could always look out for your local well womens clinic.

Abis i am far far too excited for you! get a First Response, they're both pretty and sensitive :)
(funnily enough i was just thinking the other day that you had been with us far too long and should be getting your bfp soon)

and firefly shuuuut uuuup, some of us have been slacking and don't want pointy sticks :rotfl:
although can i have a new body too please? tia

i never trusted the pill so never had it for contraceptive purposes, much preferred condoms as you can actually see them working and heard too many stories about the pill not working cos of eating sugar free polos etc
I only took the pill once i had been diagnosed with PCOS, luckily i wasn't offered it as a solution to my lenthy cycles as they were so long the doctor was stunned, i think i had gone six months without a period by the time i saw him. But there is a pill which is sort of a catch all treatment of PCOS symptoms as it is an anti-testosterone, possibly Dianette? reduces acne, hair loss, hairsuitism, regular cycle, you just can't get pregnant on it, which was perfect for me at the time x

The joy of irregular cycles. I think I was lucky to get pregnant when I did because it was only because I went to the loo just before we went to bed and I noticed ewcm, which I hadnt see all day. We wouldnt have bded that night and i wouldnt have done an opk the next day if I hadnt of seen it.

Its so annoying though because when you expect to ovulate later, you dont want to start doing it too early in fear of wearing yourself out!

But, if you are indeed ovulating early, then at least it means all your efforts are working :T and next month should roll around so quickly!

Hiya - been lurking for a while, but thought I'd better join as there have been so many BFP's in January there will be none of you left!! Congrats to all!!

Came off the pill in August 2012, and been TTC since. Last couple of months have been NTNP as OH was made redundant but he's back working again now so I guess we are TTC again. I'm 39 (just) so expecting it to take a while but still v v v impatient! OH has 2 children with his ex-wife so (fingers crossed) all is OK with him.

CD13 for me, am not using anything at the mo to predict ovulation, but just downloaded pink pad & fertility friend to my phone. Friend also has a CBFM which she says she'll lend me for my next cycle.

Thought I'd just post as two things occurred to me at the weekend:
    1. Have spent 20 years trying to PREVENT a BVP, isn't it funny that now I'm not trying to prevent that nothing is happening!!
    2. If someone had told me 15 years ago that I'd be struggling to get a man to BD I'd have ROFL!!

SBDTA! (and that's from someone who is struggling massively with all the abbreviations but getting there!!)

    xx
  • good luck Abis, hope you get a digital BFP
