I think you cound cd1 as the first day with any red blood, so as opposed to spotting. It doesnt matter if it starts in the afternoon.
Do you not normally get spotting before AF?
Its weird when I was on the pill Id just get AF and never any spotting. Now I always tend to get at least 1 day of it before. It was weird at first but now Im glad as atleast I get a warning! Although theres been the very odd month without it, which has then caused disappointment as it made me think AF wasnt coming!
^^ this.
I never used to get spotting then suddenly started getting 2 days before AF. If I think about it, I think the pill definitely messed up my body. Wish I'd never taken it.Eu não sou uma tartaruga. Eu sou um codigopombo.0 -

Dont beat yourself up about having a chemical then. Its probably just normal spotting. And hopefully wont suprise you as much now! Although hopefully you wont get another AFcodemonkey wrote: »^^ this.

I would like to say that but my skin was so much better on the pill, and I could plan AF whenever I wanted. So I loved being on it. I wish I could be on it now and just come off for two days for ov or something :rotfl::(:(:(:(:(:(:(:(:(:(:(:(:(:(:(:(:(:(:(:(:mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::o:o:o:o:o:o:o:o:o:o:o:o:o:o:o:o:o

I'm glad it wasn't a chem then. Funny I'd never noticed spotting until now. I guess getting a BFP and a chem isn't worth the heartache so I'll hold out until Weds. No spotting tomorrow and Tuesday would be a good sign thomakes it seem like less time to wait.

Yeah definitely dont take spotting as a sign of a chemical as I think from reading posts on here most of us seem to get it.
Holding out til Weds is a good plan because if you do get a bfp it should be a nice strong one!
plus I was reading something on baby & bump - and whether this is true or not I dont know, but, about the % of tests done at certain days past ov, making it to a succesful pregnancy so I guess chemicals effectively.
Im sure it said something along the lines of if you get a bfp at 14dpo, you are extremely likely to stay pregnant, - obviously there is still the 1 in 4 risk of miscarriage but thats normal. But if you get a positive at say 8 or 9dpo, its actually more likely that you wont stay pregnant, than you will. So its best to find out later on when its much more likely to be viable.0 -

That has reassured me somewhat Claire, I'm still too scared of losing it to relax and enjoy it, but kind of glad now I got the negative result last week as at least now I am 16 dpo there's half a chance it will stick. I still think early testing can be a good idea for couples who've never been pg before and want to at least have the proof that things are working, I suppose no need if you already know that.0 -

Yeah it was definitely a good reason not to test early unless you are ok with knowing about a chemical. Which some people are I guess.
Id have to do a search to try to find it but I think it was something along the lines of, a positive at around 8dpo is 85% chance of failing and youll still get a periodif it doesnt stick - although it might be a day or so late, but once you get to 14dpo then basically the percentage swings the other way and chances are on your side 90% or something I think.
It was also talking about symptom spotting which made some sense.
It said that if you are getting 'symptoms' but bfns, then they arent pregnancy symptoms - because if theyre true pregnancy symptoms you will be in that case getting the pregnancy hormone and therefore a bfp.
Otherwise 'symptoms' are just pmt or illness, or reading into things too much etc.
And when I think about it, stuff like being sick, I dont think ive ever read about anyone on this board ever being sick before a bfp or major symptoms like that.
I think that a lot of the stuff we are told are pregnancy symptoms, yes are symptoms but we dont need to rely on them in the same way as years ago before pregnancy tests. Like my mum said she had to go to the dr, - so had to wait til shed missed a period, and then wait for the result.
So by that time you could well be being sick etc. Whereas we are peeing on the sticks well in advance of anything really starting! Plus, things we then could look back on and think were a symptom could just be pure coincidence! Its also very easy to say you 'felt' pregnant or weird or whatever, but forget about the x other months you said you felt like that too and werent pregnant!
So although Im sure some of us definitely do get signs or whatever, I really need to just try not to think about stuff like that so much in the 2ww!0 -
Congratulations to all of you who have got bfps. :T

AF can go and come back thats normal. But seems early to get a positive opk unless you normally ovulate early?
Could you do a pregnancy test incase?0
