Trying for a Baby Part 8

Welcome Tia, I hope your stay is short. Yes it can take a while for cycles to settle down when stopping the pill, I think for some it takes a few months or more. Were you on a regular 28 day cycle before starting on the pill?
Thanks for the welcome trina. My cycle was regular, I had been on the pill for about 10 years though, so guessing this might have an effect. Its so frustrating, just want AF to arrive so I know the best dates to try this month.0 -

I know some of the people on this thread have taken up to 12 months to get a regular cycle back after being on the pill, especially for a decade. Just like pregnancy, contraceptives may permanently change what used to be 'normal' for you. Best advice I can give is to wait it out
Hopefully you will be one of the lucky ones who get pregnant very quickly.14th October 201020th October 20113rd December 20130 -

I know it's frustrating, but assuming you've no fertility problems (and why should you have) you don't really need to worry about ideal times and all that malarkey. Just have sex as often as you want and whenever you want to and leave all that scheduling for if you've got nowhere after 6 - 12 months. Honestly, actively trying for a baby can quickly become a bit mechanical - far better just to enjoy sex whenever and see what happens. To be honest it's anyone's guess as to when the best time will be and/ or if your periods will be regular again so if you want to know I'd go with checking cm to start with & move onto temping, opks if you want something more specific, it all depends what works best for you & how involved you want to get or you just want to see what happens without knowing for sure. I think it just comes down to how you are as a person. for me, not knowing would drive me mad & stress me out. for other people they are happy to go with the flow. Welcome to the thread!0 -
Hi Tia. Welcome to the club! I too was on the pill for 11 years and it's taken about 12-15 months for them to regulate. I still feel like they are changing a little every month.
Congrats to TeamLowe's DH
Also, congrats to Welshcosmic. Really pleased for you hun x
Af has 'done one' finally. Weird second bleeding lasted about 24 hours.DS born November 2013 :smileyhea0 -
Wow thanks for all the helpful replies. If I had known it would take that long to get back into a regular cycle I would have stopped sooner.
Look forward to hearing more positives from people on here0 -
Oooo congratulations to MrLowe for his new job - perfect for a baby TL, hope its just what fate has been waiting for for you both
Amazing weight loss Lily - share you secrets?
I've been a good girl and been to the gym this evening despite it being the last thing I fancied, and I'm trying not to eat all the cheese in the house now and unbalance my good effort.
Welcome to the thread tia86, it can take a long time for your cycles to get back to normal but they can also go back really quick so don't worry too much, just see how they are in the next few months and you can go from there. Hopefully you wont even have to wait that long and you'll be pregnant before your cycle settles down0 -

To be honest I wouldn't even worry about it because you can still get pregnant, like lemon melon said you might get pregnant before your cycles change anyway!0 -
