For Mrs T M & All you Lady Bugs xxxxxxxxxxxxx

Trying to conceive is not an easy journey and it’s made harder with the fact that you never know when you are going to get there or if you are even half way there yet. It’s harder still when others you know find their journey quick and easy and they seem to do it without taking wrong turns or needing to stop to re-fuel or ask for directions, harder still if those acquaintances found themselves on that road when it wasn’t a deliberate decision to make that particular journey.

Our journey may be long or short, uphill or downhill all the way. We might end up taking the scenic route when we would rather be on the motorway, but it is still a journey and that journey isn’t over until we reach that destination, but when we get there (and we will) we will know that every mile was so very worth it and the time we spent travelling will not seem quite such a big deal.

So while on the way try to smile, turn up the radio and roll down the window, breathe in that lovely fresh air and take a moment to look at the scenery. Appreciate that travelling companion you have, he loves you more than anything else in the world, he chose to make that journey with you and he is trying as hard as you to make that journey worthwhile, even if sometimes you can’t quite see it.

We are praying that whether we are driving a super new sports car or an old banger, that it will get us there eventually. I know it’s hard and we are all in a hurry, but can you see that beautiful horizon in the distance? That is our destination, dont let it slip out of view. Put your foot down, but watch where you’re going, you want to arrive safe and sound and not too weary from the journey so take a few little rests along the way.

I will wave at you as we drive along those roads for you can understand that we may pass each other or drive side by side for a bit. We may take wrong turns and have to go back a bit and look at the map again, but we will get there eventually.

Hello, sorry been awol for a while. I'm on CD8 now and not only did my period come early it was also longer and stronger this month. But finally over. Been temping for the last 8 days to find out when I really OV. For practical reasons, I have been taking my temp after getting dressed and going to the bathroom. And it seems to work. It's only varied between 36.1 and 36.2 so I should be able to see the 0.5C shift at OV in a few days.

Gonna catch up with all your posts throughout the day.

Hi all

Can I join your thread? I have been a bit of a lurker as wanted to wait until this month was out...but now want to ask some advice.
I stopped taking the pill in Dec and started ttc immediately, working with the assumption of a normal 28 day cycle. I am now on CD35 and no AF, did a test and got a BFN. Just wondered if anyone else had been on the pill before and how long it took to get your periods back into a regular cycle.

Congrats to those with good news - baby or otherwise. Sorry to those who are out

I stopped taking the pill in May last year and had 2 irregular periods, around 50ish days apart. I then decided it would be a good idea to take its again temporarily whilst on honeymoon so that I wouldn't have a visit from AF. I took 2 more months over Sept/oct. My period then seemed to be more regular after that and I got pregnant in December. So I suppose for me it didn't take very long to get my periods back into a regular cycle, around 4ish months. Good luck to you.

It can be different every time you come off. The first time I came of I was pregnant straight away so couldn't really tell but had a MC. This time I was on time for two months with 28 day cycles and only now are they becoming odd with one being 25 days and the last only 21 days long. The doctors usually say give it three cycles and things should be back to normal.

Not going to call it yet, but temp dip and spotting this morning. I'm probably out for this month.

How do you ladies do it? Keep from giving up I mean? All of you are super women. It's only our 4th month ttc, 2nd with temping, and I feel like I'm depressed. :(

Because there's no other choice!

I think pretty much everyone including myself on these forums seems to be really optimistic for about 3 months & then if they're not pregnant by then reality sets in that you aren't going to be the person who got pregnant straight away so then you start to worry well then how long is it going to take then?

Will it be just another couple of months or could it be a year etc? I think it just makes your mind wander.

Plus I started to completely dissociate bd with getting pregnant around month 6, I felt like there is actually something else that gets you pregnant that I just didn't know about :rotfl:

Bizarrely after having a miscarriage Im more optimistic because I know it can work now! So just have to try again!

The way I am coping with it is basically by assuming that it will happen, but it will take a long time. I'm mentally preparing myself for a wait of up to 2 years (including any miscarriages), so I'm just thinking I'll get on with life and eventually my ship will come in.

The other thing I do is think, the sooner I get pregnant, the sooner my baby will grow up, the sooner I'll have to go back to work after maternity leave, the sooner my child will leave home one day etc! I only want one more kid so the next time all these stages end will be the last. So the longer it takes now, the longer I'll have the experience for later.
• its cd15 for me & ovk are still neg :-( must be a longer cycle for me this month!
i caved & bought boots own brand ovks - i was concerned the cheap ebay ones were difficult to actually 100% read the result!
boots ovk said you can test anytime of the day, so I did one this morning - should I do another 2nite or leave it until 2moro?
hugs to anyone who needs one :-)
• Morning All,

Well today it is a year since I got my implant out and started ttc and today is also cd1. Not a great day. Will pick myself up tomorrow but today I will let myself wallow, start taking AC and chocolate will be consumed!

Great posts Tinks, Birdie and Claire.

Lilymay - Well done on the 12lbs in such a short time. I wish my body would give it up that fast.

Hi CC,
I have used both internet cheapies and branded opks - I have to say the internet ones are just as good (for me at least) and really easy to read. I also don't feel too guilt about testing 2+ times per day. Do you normally O around CD15? Also how negative was the test? Some women get a gradually darkening line until O day, but others are just hit with a stonking positive.
