    Hi new ladies

Thanks for the update about QQ still thinking of you and hoping it all works out xx

I agree about the opks as well I use the cheapie ones and both positives have been in the afternoon when I get back from work. On both occasions ones i did the morning before and the morning after it were negative.

On that note please can I be update to 2dpo on the list? Feel a bit sad to be in the 2ww but trying to stay hopeful. Have to stop myself thinking I would have been this many weeks by now before I drive my self crazy.

We bd at the right time so fingers crossed. Hoping for December bfp for us all xx
  • Thanks for the welcome.

Purcy - Good luck in the 2ww

Feels strange to be back on the TTC wagon. I remember what a rollercoaster it was the first time round.

Does anyone use Conceive Plus/Pres seed? It worked for us last time, so hopefully again. I've also started on the TTC Pregnacare vits again. And this time I've got the mens ones for hubby - although he thinks their normal vits not ttc ones - oops!

    I've been Money Tipped!
I also do opks in pm. Going to chart again when af actually comes, false start earlier i think.

Been to drs & saw a different one. He said he thinks I have pcos(?!!) so is sending me for scan & bloods. Was talking about referring me to fertility specialist etc which scared me to death, I'm not ready for any of that. He said if I'm not ovulating (which he thinks I'm not) then I won't get pregnant. Clearly.

I guess I just didn't expect him to start talking further down the line when really we have no clue on what is happening yet

Blimey, how many times can one thread be moved??? Not convinced this is the best place for it either...

Have had a positive on an opk!!!!! I feel so clever!!!! Told DH too so he knows he's on duty, ah the romance!

Now I've detected this surge will I definitely lay an egg? I mean, is it possible to gear up for ov but not actually do it?

Hear hear about November having been a difficult month, it really really has hasn't it. Dodgy hugs all round :grouphug::grouphug:

Thanks for the update on QQ too MV. You're still in my thoughts if you're reading (and even if you're not actually!)
    Updating soon...

Everytime, I look for this thread it has moved.

I'm convinced DHs work are out to get me. For the past 3 months, they've sent him away around ov. This month he'll be away, yes, you guessed it, around ov time. Arrggh.

    Hugs and chocolate for everyone.

  • Congrats on the +opk Courgette! :T

I think you can get the surge without ovulating, but I don't know how often that happens.

I have a feeling I didn't ov last month, but I only had 2 sticks left so could easily have missed it.

I'm meant to start testing tomorrow, but I think CD6 is a bit on the early side..I haven't even finished my AF yet! Think I'll wait a couple more days. I swear they get you to start POAS so early to sell more sticks!

becca - at least it sounds like your Dr is being proactive which is a good thing :) I can imagine all that information in one hit was quite overwhelming though!

You don't even take him seriously,
How am I going to get to heaven?,
When I'm just balanced so precariously..
  • B*gger to OH being away for ov Code..how annoying.

I so wish my OH had bought a bottle of wine on his way home this evening...

when you say she doesn't think she's ovulating, do you mean she doesn't have a regular cycle? i saw my doctor after about 6-7 months of ttc and got referred to the gynaecologist as i didn't have a cycle, but i already knew i had PCOS.
i know a few ladies here have got blood tests to see if they're ovulating as they're cheap before 12 months. 12 months seems to be for referral to a fertility specialist, which is the expensive part.

If it's a case of she's got a regular cycle (ie gets a period once every x days, 'normal' being between 24 and 42 days) but the ovulation tests aren't working then that might be user error (a big theme of ttc chat here is using and interpreting them properly) or the LH surge that the tests detects is so short she's missing hers, it's supposed to be literally only a few hours, so if she's testing in the morning she might be missing it in the afternoon.

She has a regular menstural cycle. Every 28 days exact whereas me, her Mum had a 35 day cycle. I'm not sure what time of day she is testing her ovulation but she has been testing it daily for a couple of months now after day 12 and still hasnt conceived. She assures me they are 'doing it' enough.

Judi - Does your daughter chart her basal body temp? It is the best way to see what is happening in your cycles before medical intervention. A sustained temperature rise in the second half of her cycle is the only way to confirm ovulation.

Ive gone through basal body temperatures with her along with fertile mucus (all things i am familiar with). Interestingly enough my basal body temperature never rose it just dipped but along with the CM i always knew when i was ovulating.

Thanks for your input, I'll stick to my original recomendation for her to wait for 12 months (but i'm hoping medical intervention wont be needed obviously).

    Hi ladies

Been trying to read through and catch up.

Am now on cd2 so beginning my third post-mc cycle.

Been a bit haywire so decided to give soy a try. Trying just 80mg cd 2 to 6. Anyone got experience of it? Hoping it might shorten cycle a bit!

Glad qq has been in touch mv. Hope she's ok.

I love December. Think that would be perfect month to receive my sticky bfp!
