DD is at her dads, which always makes things worse too for me. She really does have the most magical of hugs. Miss her lots
I just bought some new fabric tho - so I am going to make lots of new things tonight instead of stinky ironing!
Trying not to resort to choccies or alcohol seeing as I am on slimming world. I lost 1.5lbs last night which I was a bit disappointed about, but the ladies on the slimming world thread have been helping me with that. I know its still a loss, yada yada, but I have a lot to lose and first week of a diet I normally lose a lot more than that.
Hugs for becca and MV. Am sure we will all get our forever babies one day. The journey sucks sometimes tho

Hi, can I delurk please?!
Hoping to start ttc number 2 soon. Been umming and ahhing for a little while now. Already have one daughter who is not far off 2 years old. CD2 for me today, so hoping I can pin hubby down this month for month 1 of ttc.
Hope to get to know you all xx0 -
Just a quick question to you ladies ttc. My daughter asked me today how long she ought to leave it before she consults her GP as she has been ttc for 10 months. A few months ago i said i'd leave it 12 months (she's 26 and theres no immediate rush) but she doesnt appear to be ovulating. She has been buying ovulation testing kids and pregnancy predictors in bulk.
Never having that particular problem myself, I'm a loss as to what to tell her.
Any insight would be appreciated. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -
Hi Judi, most doctors won't start looking into it until the couple have been trying for 12 months, so I would probably wait until the new year. It is hard though because you just want answers now! Good luck xx0

Jeez thought you lot had run away from me. Couldn't find the thread as hard as I tried.
Hello newbies, and welcome.
Thank you on the update regarding QQ. Huge hugs QQ. We really miss you on here, take care of yourself.
Nothing to report here, but it's only cd5. This is the month when I don't know whether to try or not as it's going to be one hell of a stressful one. Am getting the extra help I need to keep me sane now, so hopefully no more silly blubbery melty down fits for me.
Judi, I think it's usually 12 months they recommend trying before they look into anything. But then again can never hurt to go and talk to the drs.Remember never judge someone that makes a mistake, because in six months time it may be you that makes the next mistake.0 -

Hi Judi, its lovely that your daughter can talk to you about these things
when you say she doesn't think she's ovulating, do you mean she doesn't have a regular cycle? i saw my doctor after about 6-7 months of ttc and got referred to the gynaecologist as i didn't have a cycle, but i already knew i had PCOS.
i know a few ladies here have got blood tests to see if they're ovulating as they're cheap before 12 months. 12 months seems to be for referral to a fertility specialist, which is the expensive part.
If it's a case of she's got a regular cycle (ie gets a period once every x days, 'normal' being between 24 and 42 days) but the ovulation tests aren't working then that might be user error (a big theme of ttc chat here is using and interpreting them properly) or the LH surge that the tests detects is so short she's missing hers, it's supposed to be literally only a few hours, so if she's testing in the morning she might be missing it in the afternoon.Little Lowe born January 2014 at 36+6

Welcome Miffy, hope you enjoy the forum and have some good news relatively quickly.
Judi - Does your daughter chart her basal body temp? It is the best way to see what is happening in your cycles before medical intervention. A sustained temperature rise in the second half of her cycle is the only way to confirm ovulation.
I am one of those women who are ovulating but cannot seem to catch my surge on opks but I get to see when I ovulate and how long my luteal phase is on my chart. I also took all my charts along to my first appointment at the docs and even tho it had been less than a year he referred me.
Glad Q is doing OK. Thanks for the update:)0
