Trying for a Baby Part 8

Yay for achievable goals, boo for LLETZ problems. As it's likely I'll have to have that on Friday. What happened to your cycle? Did they say you had to stop TTC for some time after it?
When I got my smear results (mid June) and was told I'd need to have a colposcopy I was told that I'd need to stop TTC. I couldn't start again until I got the all clear from the treatment (mid October). But I wasn't able to start TTC again as I then had continuous bleeding for 4 months. Since then I've not really had much of a cycle. So for me it easily wiped out 8 months of TTC.
Having said that I think I have just been really unlucky with everything. For a start I think most people get treated a lot quicker than I did. Initially the consultant thought I didn't actually have any pre-cancerous cells and he thought my smear results were incorrect. It turns out I actually had level 3 cells so he was completely wrong. So I think the delay in treatment was him double checking I actually needed it. And I think the bleeding was probably nothing to do with the LLETZ but just coincided.
What I'm trying to say (but clearly not very well) is that most people seem to recover well and don't see an impact with their cycle. I know when I was going through the process I kept coming across all the horror stories which in reality were few and far between x0 -
That's really good news Fannyanna! :T It's so nice when you finally get someone to actually listen and empathise!
Sorry that things went so wrong for you though, here's hoping that you'll get your BFP in 2013!
I think that my cycle must really be a bit late this month, seems like I have EWCM, 2 weeks later than normal! Don't think OH will be up for BD tonight as he'll be too tired, not sure how to convince him other than giving him a slap and telling him that babies don't make themselves?!Overcome the notion that you must be ordinary. It robs you of the chance to be extraordinary!Goal Weight 140lb Starting Weight: 160lb Current Weight 145lb0 -
Fannyanna, as an aside - do you have much pain with your bleeding/mid cycle etc? I did find out why continuous bleeding could be PCOS- related (though have now forgotten the reason!
) but actually (I don't know if you've been keeping up) I had surgery last month that confirmed I do have endometriosis (I've been pretty convinced of this for a good while) and that's been the cause. Is it something to consider? I have had 7week (heavy heavy) bleeding more than once, and on another occassion only stopped that because I started norithisterone to make the HSG possible and even then I was still spotting.
P.s. I know they can only confirm this via a laparoscopy though, and they want a patient's BMI to be under 35 before they'll do one.
P.p.s welcome back Birdie
P.p.s. is it possible that posters of huge pics could resize them before posting? as they end up huge and stretch the page size"I am indelibly stained by hope and longing" - Nuts in May0 -

When did you have the actual Colposcopy? Was it in October? And with level 3 cells, did they simply do the LLETZ at the same time as the colposcopy and that was job done?
I should probably PM you...0 -
I had LLETZ treatment after the discovery of CIN 2-3 cells after a routine smear and then colposcopy in April 2009.
I was considering ttc at that point, and the Dr told me to wait until after my holiday in Thailand which was booked for the September to begin trying. I don't think it was a 'you have to' more enjoy your holiday, give yourself a chance to get better and then start ttc.
I had quite heavy bleeding after the LLETZ too (they had to remove a small piece of my cervix as well), but I recovered well and have had a couple of follow up colposcopy's since and fingers x'd, all is clear and I am back to yearly ordinary smear tests now.Metranil dreams of becoming a neon,You don't even take him seriously,How am I going to get to heaven?,When I'm just balanced so precariously..0 -

I don't mind if you want to pm me.
The timings for me were:- Mid June - received smear results (moderate dyskarosis)
- End June - colposcopy appointment at hospital ( I think they would normally perform LLETZ treatment at the same time but he was convinced I didn't have anything wrong and that my smear result was incorrect so he took a couple of biopsies to double check).
- End July - biopsy results received (showed CIN2) and told I needed treatment
- Early September - had the LLETZ treatment
- End October - confirmed removal of CIN2 and CIN3 and that I had clear margins.
