Just like annavdf above I stupidly got into cheery email conversation with "Libby" and accepted her discount for bank transfer

This seems a simply scam by them. Companies House close their ltd company down for not filing accounts, so they need ready cash that wont go through books to pay off creditors, so get people to pay by bank transfer which is non reversible as its just like handing them cash

yes i did and you cant use the below as an example as the address is on the site.
No address on website for example.
what other irregularities as if its just spelling etc. then who would you report them too.

but this makes not difference the way i see it, she has had her ltd company closed down and now asking buyers to pay by bank transfer ( most likely to a private bank account) so that it does not go through the books, so she can pay some to creditors if she wants.
This way if anyone files against her and the ltd company then their will be little or no money in her business accounts and with the ltd company she would personally be liable for 1 single share (value £1)

Yes, we know what she's doing. It doesn't really move anything forward to keep repeating it.

The address they give is clearly a mail forwarding address, and I'm not convinced that is adequate information to give the customer before engaging them in a contract.Unless anyone else says she has emailed them a proper registered office address' like a home address for example.

the law just says a UK website must display clearly a postal address. many sites use mail forwarding addresses as they want to seem bigger than they are and not show they are working from their home. this in itself is not wrong.

in fact the address is a factory unit just off the A339 Basingstoke

I have just reported the chairandsofacovers company to the Police via action fraud UK hotline as I do not believe that I am going to be sent a refund and I have not ever received any sofa covers. They were very interested and very helpful and I am hoping the referral to the City of London Police Fraud department will result in an investigation and everyone getting their money back. Fingers crossed.

Would you care to provide the link that says that, from an official source.
