  • yesterday I was offered 800 x net minutes and 1000 texts on an 18 month contract. £35 a month, 17 months free by cashback, no new handset. I was with onestopphoneshop (NEVER AGAIN!!!!). I accepted it, but is it actually a good deal? Any help gratefully received!

I just got a great deal, after weeks and weeks of arguing I might add...

N82 titanium, "free", 600 mins / 1000 texts, free postage. £25 a month for 18 months (£5 of the discount is actually applied directly to the account too, so even if I need to change up a tariff I still get the discount - valid until I upgrade or disconnect).

CPW are still atrocious, but you can still pry a good deal out of them if you try!

Certainly sounds like a good deal. Are you dealing with the network directly or osps (as otherwise you are STILL dealing with osps and you said never again!). Which network is this on? How many claims and when? £35 for all that seems like a good deal.

It will be with cpwO2. Also, trying isn't enough now; you really MUST be on your toes and distrust most of what they tell you.

I phoned today as 12 month contract is at an end.
Best I could get is 800mins cross network anytime and 1000 texts for £10 per month on 18 month contract.
I didn't want a new phone and certainly didn't want to go through the cash-back thing again, although I've never had a problem with cash-backs with CPW I must say.
I think it's a fair deal ....................But not as cheap as only £35 for 18 months as posted by keep_calm_and_carry_on above.
What do you think mobilejunkie ?

Go to Mobiles2yourdoor and get a good tariff, phone, 12 month contract totally free from a company to be trusted rather more than cpw these days. That's only if you know what you're doing, of course! I can't comment on things not involving cashback or where you actually pay something! I don't do pay.

I love your style, MJ! :) :money:

Don't laugh at banana republics. :rotfl:

As a result of how you voted in the last three General Elections,
you'd now be better off living in one.

I would welcome help from anyone who has successfully terminated mob fon contract with Carphone Warehouse.
I phoned CPW to obtain Disconnection Ref No. & postal address but said fon before 72 hours. My questions are:-
    1. Does CPW give this info as they promise just 72 hours before contract expires?
    2. What information is to be included in the letter to be sent;-
Transaction number, PAC request, Mob fon no., account name/no. Anything else?
    3. Assuming you get all the info, if the letter of notice is sent by Special Delivery to P O box address, is it signed for by receiver @ CPW?
    4. Do CPW acknowledge receipt of your letter & confirm contract will be terminated?
replies are appreciated from people who have been through this nigtmare
    thank you

I've just called them and been offered 275 min, 250 texts for £10 per month over 24 months with no phone. Like the above post, I need to know how to go about cancelling my contract, so that I can go and get a better deal elsewhere. Please help someone.

I would ring them back in a day or two. They do have better deals to offer than that!
