excellent post nell.
think i'll give them a ring tomorow when i'm not tired, he said 14 days to cancel, so i'm well within that.
What would be the best thing to say when they ask you why you don't like that deal?
I was thinking along the lines, that although I don't use the mins or txts much, committing to an 18 month deal on so few minutes might not be enough for 18 months, simply because i'm going on a rampant job hunt and won't see people I see today as much.
Or would it be better to name some deals from here and ask for something parallel in terms of value ie. £5/month for 2 years 300 mins 400 txts would do me nicely.
Or maybes go down the sim only option for £15/month with no contract commitment and hope for him to lower the monthly cost? this might not even work.0 -
Does anyone have the CPW address for sending a cancellation letter?
I rang them today & they refused to give me it stating that I would have to ring exactly 34 days before the end of my contract to register my wish to cancel whereupon they would release it to me! Can this be right?0 -
Utter crap. Read the thread; it's clearly laid out where to send it. It's a Southampton address and there is zero need for ANY "disconnection" code etc. This company has degenerated into absolute rubbish. AVOID unless you want to play hardball and know what you're doing.0

Cannot believe the sharp practice of CPW re: disconnections. I have only seven days of contract left so am far to late to disconnect and feel bound to renew.
Called retentions today, trying for a handset (!) and continuation of current 3pound per month deal, got offered SIM only with 275 mins and 200 txts for 3 pounds per month for 12 month contract with chequebacks. Said I could get better deal online and would need to think so would call back, and was offered more minutes. Am now thinking that cashback would be better and need to trade the extra offered minutes with them.
Will try it out tomorrow and see.
As an aside the guy on the line started guffing about other deals elsewhere (when I mentioned better online deals) and was sledging the opposition (didn't name names obviously) saying they don't always award chequebacks. Sounds rich?0 -
phoned them up this morning, i said I would like something cheaper with more minutes, so she changed the unlimited web for 200 mins making it 275 mins and 250 texts for £10, thats worse than the one before, i rejected and she said thay would phone me back but havent yet. Think i'm just gonna cancel it and move elsewhere, would rather pay £5 more for no contract.
Last nite around this time i fired off an email via their email support bit on the site, explaining my dissatisfaction, and want to cancel that contract.
They phoned me up today cofirming what I wrote that I want to cancel, so I said yep thats what I want to do, but then he wasn't in the disconnection department so I had to be passed along to disconnections. And have to explain my reasons to leave as I did the first time I called, they ask me why I want to leave, I said because 75 mins for 18 months is quite a commitment and on a tight scale, then he tells me I only used 30 mins last month, if thats the case what difference would it make to offer me more mins that i'd be content with, you aren't really losing out as i'm not using them minutes up, but nonetheless still adamant I want to leave and consider payg, he tells me 30 mins would cost me £7.50. This point I feel like *beep* off, i can multiply numbers together and know what i'm doing. Obviously, I don't know enough to say I want to go on a sim only contract (bad bad move), he says what for an extra £5 more, I say yes then he says I can do it via them they will call me back.
Guess what, they never did again. Must be the tactics they use to delay the cancellation till its past the cooling off period when it's too late.
Anyways, no more holding back and being fairly polite, i'm going all out for the cancellation.
Anyways i'm off to fire another email to cpw for disconnections to call me, having had that person calling me to read that email.
So the rule is, never accept a contract without thinking about it first.0 -
yes i sent mine in last week and have received a text from them saying they have received my CB claim.
I sent mine on 15 May, by Recorded Delivery. I have just checked on line and my item is 'currently progressing through our network'. That might explain why I have not received a text from CPW. I will give them a call on Tuesday and, if necessary, send another copy of the bill. Thank goodness, there is a 60 time window for this.0 -
I'm in my 11th month at the minute.
I get 200 mins and 200 texts (something like that), £30/month but with chequeback it works out to be free.
I rang them last week and they offered me 11months free and 1 month at £30.
The thing is, I want to get a new phone and they said they couldn't do anything for me.
The guy on the phone said to ring in a few weeks time to cancel - but some people have said I should write a letter to cacellations? Which is best?
