twink, love to see your photos!!! I think maybe AMIE just got a bit excited and posted too many for one day:D
I think it will be a real shame if, for example, Racy couldn't post her pics of the coots in this thread, because this is where we've all enjoyed hearing their antics. Maybe if everyone is going to post their pets or something then that might need to go elsewhere, but surely the odd one-off is OK.You never get a second chance to make a first impression.0 -
Maybe we should have a post your lovely pets and pictures thread in the OS section, rather than the Arms, just a suggestion.
Shame I was going to post some piccies of my lovely pets today. An average day in my life:hello: :mad: :coffee::coffee::coffee::T:rotfl: :rotfl:

Yes TWINK we all hold you fully responsible for the current uproar:rotfl: (joke) Don't stop posting your walk pics I like them, you sure do live in a beautiful place.
TM are you and him indoors still living in the same house:eek: That must be difficult. Snaffle the downsatirs telly and have a couple of pints of Baileys 'u' like - cor that takes me back, we ain't discussed knock off Baileys for a while. LOLLife's a beach! Take your shoes off and feel the sand between your toes.0 -

I agree CCstar and am a massive animal lover but the arms is the place for post your lovely pet pictures not OS surely?0 -
Just got too share this with you I've had an e-mail from ben and jerrys ice cream I've won 24 vouchers for 500ml tubs of ice cream ( I can't remember why I won them though)
now I'm off to make spag bol for tea and put the last load of washing on
ds1 is cleaning the bathroom
dd is making a mess quicker than I can clean and ds2 is annoying ds1
p.s.
Churchmouse I totally agree with everything you said when you said this
Except that i have just ventured to read the inane OS thread there and I'm sorry but it comes across as nasty and belittling people I may not be entirely happy with the way this thread is at times, but it is never more than just silly. And as I say those with the biggest complaints have been just as guilty on this thread from time to time, but seem to forget that
I don't have a problem with people disagreeing with me, and I certainly don't post here for the "thanks" count. I'm of the firm opinion we should keep the button but get rid of the count. I've never seen the point of the totals, and half the time the bl**dy thing doesn't workI didn't say it was your fault, I said I was going to blame you

Ok, going to stick my tuppenceworth in….
The Old Style board is the place to chat on Old Style. My understanding is that long ago (before my time on OS) people wanted to chat about Old Style things. Threads that were not moneysaving were being moved to the Arms and Discussion time boards, so we were allowed to have the daily thread as a concession by Andrea. I think it was originally intended for discussion of Old Style ways.
Over time the daily has evolved and we all (me included) talk about much more than just the Old Style things we are up to. We give each other friendship, support and encouragement and sometimes just let off steam as well as discussing what we are up to. I think that's what makes the thread what it is…..let's face it, it would be a pretty boring thread if we only listed the housework we intended to do.
On the other hand, if we don't want to lose the thread then we must keep it (however loosely) connected to Old Style in some way. And……. my personal opinion is that recently it has become just like a thread from the Arms, full of pictures and one line posts. Don’t get me wrong, I think pictures and one line posts that are relevant to the thread are fine, but lately it's been going totally off topic and the Old Style posts are getting lost. I know that it’s great fun and it does have it's place on the forum but I personally don't think that place is the Old Style daily thread.
I'm not posting this as a board guide…..it's my own personal opinion as a fellow Old Styler. I don't think any user or users should be singled out as we have all been guilty at one time or another of posting totally off topic posts and I sincerely hope no one chooses to stop posting because of all this.

Maybe, wherever the right place to post them is, I have lost the momentum to do so.An average day in my life:hello: :mad: :coffee::coffee::coffee::T:rotfl: :rotfl:

Oh my
been trying to see what the fuss is all about while at work. No good. Just can't read enough while squinting and whistling to distract people from my interneting. Well, it's been more exciting here than in the office today!
I've sneaked in to see what you're all doing - love the photy MATH, I shall now have a different picture of you in my mind's eye when reading your posts.
Off to make dinner in a mo. Also got to hoover living room and get a little ironing done (little? nope it's a lot! thought it might have disappeared while I was at work. dagnabbit!)
see you later.
edit - just read your post above Pink. Thanks for that - extremely well said."You can't get a cup of tea big enough or a book long enough to suit me." - C.S. Lewis0 -

Oh, and for those of you who haven't ventured into the Arms before - you think my thread is inane - you should have read some of the other ones over previous months and years - they HAVE been inaneBut good with it.
Right - HM shepherd's pie for tea, then an evening of laundry for me. May even get chance to watch a dvd if Mr TM decides to watch tv in the bedroom or spend the evening on the PC (please)
The definition of inane is also relative. My OH thinks coming on here everyday to tell everyone that my washing machine is on and I've bleached the loo is about as inane as it gets.:o :rolleyes:but I enjoy chatting to people of a like mind to me.
Anyway. Am I the only one ordering takeaway for tea cos I can't drag myself off MSE today.:o i will need to do an allnighter to catch up.0 -
Maybe we could have an ol style Arms?:beer:Our days are happier when we give people a bit of our heart rather than a piece of our mind.
