Hi everyone,
Just to let you know that there's an announcement in the sticky at the top of the Old Style board regarding the daily thread.

Thanks you 3 and I have to say I think our Ticklemouse is very brave - I know I wanted to say something for a long time but just stopped posting instead - Respect girl with all your going through I know you still really care about OS:o0 -

Right, give me a day or two to get back into the swing of things, maybe I'll be able to come up with things all by myself instead of pinching everybody else's ideas/thoughts:rotfl:

I hope you don't mind me posting this, but I have read this daily thread for almost a year now, only posted once or twice, and I must say over the past couple of weeks I got to the point where I don't read it as often as I would like, too many one liners and far too many photos.
Well done to the board guides for making the announcement, and to TM for bringing up the subject. I look forward to reading the thread again as it once was.
I am pleased Moggins is sounding much happier and I hope things get sorted for Snowy at work today, thinking of you.
May I take this opportunity to thank the posters on the Old Style Board, I washed my vertical blind today after reading the thread about washing them in the machine, I was going to buy new ones but they have turned out looking brand new. I may get my hair cut tomorrow with the money I saved to buy them.

Afternoon Guys!
I have to agree with TM Im afraid. In the last couple of weeks the daily OS thread has changed and is no longer occupied with cooking, cleaning and other minor chit chat, but taken over with Johnny Depp and such like
I dont understand what is going on, but I havent bothered to post as much as I normally do as my topics arent relevant with conversations going on in the daily thread. I have started posting elsewhere. Its a shame as OS is my home, but certain posters have put me off.
Lets hope it gets back to normal and quickly:D
Hugs

Oh what a shame! This morning I posted about making some hm soup I was making and wondering what to do for dinner and then off loaded about some bad news I had received about friends. Much needed hugs were sent my way for which I am very grateful! :A
Still being in a bit of shock re the bad news I stayed on line and was delighted when someone posted some photos which really cheered me up. I also added some of my own (sorry if this has offended anyone!) I did add that I was freezing lemons though!
I feel that it is very difficult to get the right balance here between sharing routine information and being the very supportive thread and board that is Old style! I think our board guides do a wonderful job :T by the way!
As for going to the Arms, no thank you not brave enough for that at the moment!;)
Going to take a step back and see what happens, we have been here before and no doubt will be againI have more than enough probs as have many others without worrying about stepping on others toes!

Just managed to delete one of the pics of Anna, reluctant to do the other (feels like I am deleting her! know that sounds silly!:o ) but I will if asked!
By the way if you shrink your photos down (easily done on photobucket) they don't stretch the page. Our days are happier when we give people a bit of our heart rather than a piece of our mind.

Well yet another daily thread bashing, this had all been discussed last time as to how the daily thread should be used, there was to be over the garden fence chat and os talk, read the announcement and we are told something else we must only chat about os reated topics? whats it to be? please can someone clear this up for me:rolleyes:
Would like to say thanks to ticklemouse for being brave and posting, i have been here a while and yes have noticed regular posters not posting anymore, the one liners can be annoying esp when they have just posted!
To all who are reading this please dont stop posting esp if u are newbies, we are a friendly bunch really;)
There is no need for individual insults though and that was quite harsh what ticklemouse said to amie, not everyone likes the arms, im one of them, please stop the squabbling and be friends, hugs

elaine373 I just love to watch the kids plays, sadly our school dont seem to do as many these days. I look forward to the yearly nativity play!
Well DD came home from school with a tin full of cheese scones she's baked at school, and I must say they are delicious!
Spag Bol tonight for dinner!
Off to put more washing in, and get the uniforms ironed for work/school tomorrow. Then a quick flick over the 2 loo's with the green disinfectant stardrops!

EDITED: just want to ask what this Arms thread is about please? And does anyone have a link I can check it out!

Agree with you catznine, think it's a hard balance between purely OS and chatty support of each other.
At the risk of being shot down in flames, I also think it is easy to notice and criticise other's OT one liners etc. and a lot harder to see when it's yourself involved:D ALL of the people complaining have to my knowledge at some time or another been guilty of one liners!! And I hold my hand up to the same guilt:oI often find the length of the thread daunting, don't have a problem about photos (except when they s-t-r-e-t-c-h the page, makes it soooo hard to read, but readily admit that's why I've never posted a picture, 'cos I fear I'd stretch it to China:rotfl: )
At the end of the day (how I hate that phrase, couldn't think of another:o ) I'm sure we all want the same thing. Chat, encouragement, and support in the hard times, and mutual joy in the good times. Hope I haven't offended anyone, if I have it's unintentional.
Hope you enjoy the rest of the day:D

kyle, cross posted ( I type so slowly) but I felt the same. Came in from lunchclub, settled down with a cuppa and my laptop looking forward to a catch-up and my heart just sank. We've been here before! (((((hugs)))) to all especially kiwichick who I forgot in all the bickering. Hope things improve for you soon, take care of yourself.xxxxYou never get a second chance to make a first impression.0 -
Well I'm back on my own PC now so apologies in advance for squished-up posts and no smilies LOL. Miss Tru just rang and asked if she could stay out straight from school and use her bus fare for a bag of chips for tea. Master Tru will probably just grab a toastie when he gets in so I don't have to cook HOORAY! I've hoovered and done all the ironing, just 2 more loads of washing to go in. I've given myself the day off work tomorrow but don't know what to do with myself yet, hopefully my supplies will be delivered so I can make more cards.Bulletproof0
