I've read the announcment and I'm now like Kyle lost to what we can post I'm sorry if I've offended anyone but my understanding was if we wanted to be chatty the daily thread was the place to do it
I have read some of the post's in the arms and I'm sorry but I prefer os and I'm not being nasty when I say that it's just not my cup of tea
and why single one person out for doing it and insulting them that was harsh
pam xxI didn't say it was your fault, I said I was going to blame you

well no one else seems to mind, infact people are joing in.. its having a bit of harmless fun, nothing here is meant to hurt or upset anyone, and we are not posting about nothing.. if someone posts then it is something to them, .. lighten up !!!!
I agree - we don't need people scrutinising our every word and action, so long as it is decent and clean, which it is - we get enough of that in our lives outside here!
Always has to be a thread killer - I'm not getting into any war with any other poster on here, as you have all been lovely, but it has been ridiculous today.
I try to keep it OS and chatty in my posts - but there is bound to be an overlap with other types of threads.
Don't need this !!!!!! just now - have some real stresses to deal with
Thank you to the people who have been supportive and helpful. An average day in my life:hello: :mad: :coffee::coffee::coffee::T:rotfl: :rotfl:

We can be as chatty as we like but it must have an OS theme, the site is so huge now that the BGs have to be strict about what belongs where otherwise we'd end up in a right mess LOL. I understand when people say "I live on this board" (it's not only said on OS, there's a few other boards people don't like to venture out of) but if we all stayed on our 'own' boards, there'd be chaos and newbies wouldn't be able to find the info they need. Oh and the thanking thing - that really got going a few months ago, people felt they had to say hello to everyone individually and it got a bit silly so people just thank now instead, to show the poster that they've read it and are saying hello. I had another point as well but I've forgotten what it is LOL. I'll edit later if I remember LOL.Bulletproof0

And here we go again....
Yes, I agree, the OS DT has become The Arms MKII, and before you all jump in and say how 'unfriendly' and 'unwelcoming' The Arms is, it is no different to the little community that you have all built up here. It is groups of people who have become friendly as a result of posting in the same place day after day.
I don't see it as anyones fault, the majority of regular posters in here were not around in the days before Ye Olde Coffee Shoppe and the finally the creation of the Old Style Daily Thread, so will not have been aware of the reasons for keeping 'chit chat' out. It's like with all things in life, it has grown and expanded into something that is far removed to what was initially intended.Only 5% of those who can give blood, actually do!

Hurrah for TM speaking her mind. Whether you agree with he ror not it takes some guts to post what you know will be unpopular. TM if you need to batton down the hatches and prop up your trenches I know where you can find some ready chopped wood:D
PP Thought you wern't posting as much as per usual. I put it down to Mr PP keeping you busy;) Get typing girl, I love reading your posts.
CCstar - decent and clean:eek: You're no fun:rotfl: Given Moggins Feme Fatale antics we'll soon have an xxx rating. LOL
I used to bemoan the passing of the old, OS Daily Thread but am getting used to the new feel. For those of us who have been around since the year dot we are probably in our 7/8th change of feel. It happens with every new batch of peeps and it keeps things fresh. I will say tho, that KIWI posted an especially moving post today and I 'almost' missed it among the lighter/funny stuff.Life's a beach! Take your shoes off and feel the sand between your toes.0 -

I don't want to see any poster feeling pushed out of Old Style and I don't think this should become personal. The announcement made by the board guides is fairly clear IMO about the issues of repeated one line posts instead of editing and about posting loads of photos. I think it's impossible to draw a line about what constitutes chattiness as one person's idea of a chatty post will be a mention of life in general whereas another's would be repeated posts not relating in any way to OS. This is where i think common sense should come into it and I do agree that the arms is a better place for posting lots and lots of pictures. Yes, it is a wider audience but the majority have been welcoming to me and I see it as an alternative to OS where I can get away from the housework for a bit. It's a really tricky one but I for one hope things can get back to normal tommorrow and that no one will feel forced to leave.0

OK, I get the rules about the photos and one liners, and I respect the OPs opinions, but it will make some people feel worried/uncomfortable/nervous about overstepping anything and getting a row for it. There are some sensitive souls out there!
Anyway back to OS style things
