Hello Diary and Friends-in-the-Box, :hello:
Thanks for keeping an eye on me, Granny and Sparky.
CD and self both dozed through most of yesterday (missed the time-slot for 'phoning DS2).
On 'watch and wait' duty as advised by Dear Vet, re new concerns about CD..
Something occurred to me: CD often collects wind-fall avocados from the orchard next door - maybe not a great idea for a dog with her health problems?
Alas, CD made her displeasure clear when her nocturnal excursion was prevented by a long rope..
Am definitely not her favourite person since this morning's 'dawn patrol' was also restricted to the patio and lawn by said rope.
High spot of our afternoon yesterday was a call from Divo Three - inbound (soon)! :j0 -
Good morning World, :hello:
Not much to report. Once again, slept through the window for calling DS2 yesterday ().
Replaced CD's rope with a barrier across the steps. She could still wander off to the avocado orchard if she really wants to, but it now involves negotiating an almost-sheer five metre drop - a year ago, she wouldn't have hesitated bouncing down - but not now.
Can't say CD is entirely happy about the new gate, but it's much better than being tied up. She settled for half of my fish fillet and a few frozen-chicken-pops last night (instead of supplementing her diet with avocados).
**Mental note to self: Re-calculate CD's nutrition / weight requirements.
Finances. Bad news forwarded by Divo Four: THEY are after me again. If I don't sort this out, in reality I'll be paying 60% income tax plus penalties!
So many things are falling over because of m' lack of impetus; really need to sort out all the paperwork and get it to the appropriate expert (three out of the four are at homehome).
Please may I throw out a question to any reader who has recently bought replacement double glazing; going on your bill, roughly how much would you expect RDG for a three-bedroom bungalow to cost?
(Will reveal the estimate provided [for Upvc] later - having real trouble believing it!).0 -
Hi Robin...sorry to hear its a difficult time for you at the moment... Horrid. Hope you feel better soon and those you love and care about get better too.

Hi Robin
We've just had RDG for a 3 bedroom apartment with 9 windows at a cost of £2050. Had one quote for over £3k, and one for under £2k but the energy rating was appalling for the cheapest one. We were very happy with the workmanship of the fitters for the one we went with.

Hey *Robin* sorry it all seems to be piling up.
Please get some help at least tell a Divo what you need to achieve and ask them for gentle help? Wish I could come and help you with THEM I could kick that one into touch for you! Could you just shove everything even vaguely relevant into a large folder and ship to the expert?
CD may not like it but she will have to lump it until she is sorted! Poor girl (here ear tickle and belly rubs CD).
Re cost I'd say £2.5k? Depends if you are including doors and number of widows but .....
Hugs and love to you both

Hi Robin,
Glad to see you are back and doing ok.
Sorry to hear about the income tax problems! I may be not amazing at my own money but don't forget as an IFA here to help if I can.
Hope the windows are probable, I love the fact our new flat has them. when we lived in the old one at the start we didnt and I found that heat escaped so easily.
